Read above my post....It explains you some things.... I remembered someone saying he had the same problem. Enjoy Valkyrie then!
Khador Drive Workaround Attention Valkyrie players: Please mount your Khador Drive to one of the first 3 slots of your ship to avoid a bug at the end of the storyline. Bug fix is already on its way. Really sorry about this. We simply didn't test every possible configuration of any equipment in any slot - which is actually impossible in a sandbox-style game like GOF2
I am stucked in the quest where I have to farm Void Essence, do I keep drilling for Void crystals to get it?
Having been a Vendetta Online player for a good time, and getting tired of the competition that went on there, I chose to play GOF2 because its single player for that reason. So the forever aspect nature is actually quite fun. Rockin.
I simply shot some A class asteroids and one of them gave me a Void Essence. This is one way of solving the problem.
I've been reading the thread, but I'm only seeing best ship posts. I'm looking for a recommendation for a good second ship. Just started the game, made it to the second system, and I'm going planet to planet looking at hangers and lounges. I have 60,000 from doing missions and mining. All the decent ships I'm seeing are 100k+. How should I be making money to afford a good second ship and outfit it properly, and what type of ship should I be looking for?
Inflict is pretty decent. I used it as my second ship... I finished the main plot with it for a bet I made with a friend of mine.
This answers my question too. I would think like 1 really good cargo ship, 1 really good fighter, and 1 really good defender. Now to just decide which ones those are and mission like crazy.
Hey, I looked through the last 5 pages or so of posts, but didn't see much about the storyline/quests in the expansion, other than it takes a few hours to complete. How is it compared to the original? I was kinda surprised by the cost of the DLC. As much as I loved GOF2, I have so many other games to play already, so trying to determine if the extra content is worth the time and money (and thus taking me away from my other games ).
I want to say that honestly, the person you quoted was 100% wrong. You guys made a great game and I honestly would have payed twice as much without even a thought. People are so amazing about prices that it drives me insane. So what it's ten bucks, you'll make it back in an hour, if not more. I've spent more time on this series than many many sixty dollar ps3 or xbox games. I want to thank fishlabs for making such a great game and hope they get all the support they deserve. One person doesn't matter out of the 100 thousand people that bought this game, so continue whining, it's only just a waste of Internet space.
Story is more fighting oriented. You're gonna love it. At least I did. It took me a good couple of hours to complete. Like 3 and half or 4 and that without making a single side mission or other things. But that's just because I wanted to see how it ends. I don't recommend you that. I think you can play at least 6 hours if not more with some quests and even mining. And that on normal. If we start talking about Extreme you can be sure you're gonna spend more than 10 hours to be sure you found everything. Not to mention the new ships that are awesome, the station you can own, the new stations that look amazing and also let's not forget the time slower Rhoda Vortex aswell as other new equipment. So I'd say you won't waste your money at all by buying it. At least I don't feel this way. I abandoned all the other games I have for now to make sure I get the most out of it...
Why? Difficulty affects the number of quests and things to be found? For someone who's starting the first real playthrough right now, would there be any advantage to play right away in Hard/Extreme?
I wouldn't recommend it. I saw that it gave me a warning the first time I played on the Extreme...I guess is there for a reason... At least the extreme mode. I recommend you normal/hard and after that Extreme. I guess that should do it.
OK, thanks. But are there any different outcomes (XP, endings, items, quests, achievements, etc) based on the difficulty you're playing?
It is more difficult to earn the achievements and the money. In the description it told me that you have to aim more accurately, your ship will steer harder the more cargo you have, if you explode a nuke near you it's, well, a big problem. You could blow yourself up. It didn't mention different endings so I'd say there are the same for everyone. XP????? I guess you advance by the number of enemies you kill, missions you make...Although there seems to be no specific indicator the XP. So is more realistic on Extreme but I would only recommend it if you know what you're doing.
Ha ha . Well, now that you've got all the details, it's all up to you! The important thing is to enjoy the game, not to get frustrated over not being able to finish it. I hope what I said earlier will help you out.
