Read the what's new bit and it tells you what your getting in the update and what's in the IAP. Sounds like a cool update without the IAP you still get some new stuff and some shiny new effects/graphics.
I know i am buying it today. Galaxy on fire 2 is just too awesome to wait. The main game won't get a graphics update just new ships, weapons, space station the valkyrie update will have a graphics update (the new areas in the valkyrie update). I got all of that from the blog.
To be specific, this: http://www.fishlabs.net/en/blog/iphone-game-galaxy-on-fire-2-valkyrie-dev-diary-part-iv/?blog=1 Should I restart the game to enjoy the new free stuff?
To the devs , I was wondering why did you decide to go with 1 - 20ish km instead of 10 - 200 ? Basically add another 0 to the numbers . Because at 10 km away , a spaceship shouldn't take THAT long to reach it . Plus the distance goes down at around .. 0.2km per second ? which corresponds to 200m/s . That's slow compared to the planes in our modern days . However making it 100 km instead , instead of going down at 0.2 per second , go down at 2 km per second . That way we'll still take 50 seconds to reach the space station like the previous one . But at least 2000 m/s sounds more like how fast a spaceship should travel . Plus it gives the impression that the space station is super huge because at 100 km , you're still able to see it . What do you think ? edit : I decided not to wait and buy it today too
Alongside graphical improvements and the above mentioned features the imminent update will include three new old ships. The retro line makes not only the phantom fighter available, but also two more ships from the first Galaxy on Fire title.
How do you know when you've bought it . I accidentally clicked buy add on multiple times but when it says confirm purchase , i only did it once . Now i see a green tick beside the valkyrie add on . does that mean I already bought it ?
Definitely worth it IMO . But I'm biased because I'm addicted to Sci Fi . Or you could wait for another sale which may take a while . But yeah . It took me 8 hours to get through the first one on easy (there are 4 difficulties and infinitely many random side quests) if I remembered correctly . I bought it at 6.99 which was its introductory price . I'm not sure when it'd drop to 4.99 again but from what I've seen , many have willingly paid 10 bucks to buy it . Plus it's universal and it is extremely polished . Best space adventure game on the iOS store . And you don't have to buy the 5 dollar add on if you don't want to . It just gives you additional stuffs plus another storyline and a lot more .
Allow my ignorance, but are the retro ships and graphics improvements available only from Valkyrie DLC only? The update description seems to say so. Edit: I mean these:
Awesone update...Im stuck on the mission to help Kothar station...Id be hard pressed to handle that in my mantis, much less the tiny deep science ship. Any tips?
I'm not sure that all of them are just from the DLC like the enhanced visuals. I'm pretty sure the private space station and the three ships are free.
Had to purchase station couldn't wait to earn 30000000, now see how long it takes me to fill it up. Will you be adding any more game center achievements ?
Sorry to hear this. See I wasn't aware of the addon until it release today. Wasn't even aware of your game. You should have timed your sales better with the release and media buzz of the addon. You are right on one thing, you are loosing a sale as I will not buy the game at full price. Your are probably right to say that 1$/hour of entertainment is good, but in reality, with the same 10$, I could buy multiple games that will provide me with maybe 10times the entertainment of your game. I love space sims, I'll probably get around at buying your game if it ever goes on sales again as long ad something better and similar doesn't come along.
lol I didn't buy the game when it was on sale because the last update was back in December.. I was like "I'm not buying this game when the developer is not updating the game." Then I read about the big updates and I'm like, "oh shoot I missed the great deal.." I don't usually trust "UPDATES COMING SOON" things on description areas until I actually see those updates up on the store. (i don't trust because of previous experiences with games like "Dead Strike" and "NFL 2010" promised updates that never came out) I'm not sure if I want to spend $15 for the game and the add-on.
I love this game and I got the space station. However after buying new ships I don't are how to switch between them on the station...
Looks like I need to buy an itunes card either today or tomorrow bit suprised t see they split it into two dlc though I'd rather they just kept it all together and had a higher price. Saying that though this is the only DLC on a game I'm actually happy to see. I'm wondering if I'd appreciate it more if I started a game from scratch though.
Well, you missed a good deal But it's still definitely worth 15 bucks, when all your current obsessions are done with, save up your pennies for this bad boy.
Yeah I tried out the lite version, the graphics are really nice. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll think about grabbing this when I get paid from part time job lol.
