Has Fishlabs commented on how much the space station will cost? Wondering how much I have to save... Also, are there new trade goods aside from the 'signatures' that can be sold ( but not bought )? Any other changes to the overall economy? Will cargo be more valuable when the larger ships are protected by turrets?
Will run just fine. I'm running it at the moment and only if there are a lot of ships and asteroids I have to disable the sound to be sure I get a good framerate, but most of the time I'm running it without problems. I played like 30 hours and I had to switch the sound off only one time (a real army of pirates was coming towards me). So unless you want to miss the deal, we can keep talking about this subject. Explosions are great. I like to blow up things and AMR Extinctor helps a lot in this matter.
Any chance of an option to play the game using iPhone/iPod as a remote for iPad version? I really love games which have such option but unfortunately, not too many devs bother to add such an option :/
I'm sort of interested on this game, and had a couple of questions, would love if someone could help me out with them I saw that this app is universal, and then read that at some point it will probably be optimized for the iPad 2. Checked the article that the developer posted a couple of days ago here, and over there it says that "We have not decided yet whether we will bring a heavily enhanced version of the original Galaxy on Fire 2 to iPad 2 as a standalone first, or release it together with Valkyrie at the same time, or even a bit later this year when the iPhone 5 comes out." Does it mean that it will be a special version that might have an additional charge? Someone said that the game is tilt-based? If that's so, any way to change it? What kind of things can be done on the game? Only battle and trading? The description mentions diplomacy, how does it work? What RPG aspects does it have (only ship upgrades)? Some people were talking about the DLC and IAP, backtothis mentioned something that if the IAP server pulls the plug (if the developer goes MIA or something), there's no way to get it back. This is only if you deleted the game from the device? Other than the upcoming DLC, are there any other IAP elements? Edit: Didn't know there was a lite version, downloading meanwhile...
I tried the lite version and it answered most of my questions... at least from what I experienced it's a bit hard to know where to go when you have missions, and shooting other ships is rather frustrating T_T
A lot of people forget the best part about this game, cloud saving!!! You can save the game on the Openfient server and download it again on another device. That's how i can play the same save file on my ipad and iphone 4.
Unfortunately I can only answer some questions, but... The game can be played entirely without tilt controls. Touch controls are available. The game is indeed battling and trading, but there's LOTS of content and variety so they won't get boring. RPG aspects in the game are missions and ship upgrades. The ONLY way to not get IAP back is if the game or IAP is pulled. If you delete the game but the game/IAP is still in the App Store, just "re-purchase" it (of course, you will not be charged as long as the device you are using has already purchased it before). And I do not believe there is any IAP currently.
So I was rewatching the Valkerye trailer and noticed the other new Vossk ship with 3 gun ports. I also noticed a while back that the current Vossk ship, H'something forgot, has "4" gun ports in the front, yet it only can use 2 gunports. Will the current Vossk ship be upgraded to 4 gun ports? That would be pretty awesome and it'll make it a bit more different then the new 2 vossk ships you are about to introduce. I wouldn't mind a price increase due to the addition of the extra 2 gun ports either.
So,I bought this game yesterday, and to be honest, i didn't really like it at first. But I gave it a second chance today, and I gotta say, i am glad i did. I'm really, REALLY starting to like this game. When does the IAP come out again?
Does this game have a 1st person mode, you know like looking through the ships windshield like in Wing Commander? Is the game at all like WC? What are the missions like? How good is the story line?
No first person view in this game. Never played wing commander so I can't comment on that. The story is pretty standard and is just there for those who complained about the lack of story in GoF1. The selling point of this game is the trade and progression system. There are several missions in this game. There are story missions which you can do at any part of the game. Or you can ignore the story and do some of the custom missions found around each of the star systems and space stations. Missions range from clearing space of junk, protecting transports from enemy attacks, killing wanted criminals, chasing down spy's, rescue missions, trading missions, transporting missions, and etc.
Tried the lite for awhile too, game looks great, and although I only played for a few minutes it does look like there's a lot of content in the game, fans of the genre should like this. I've played Freelancer and I think this is pretty similar. Couldn't get used to the controls though, and occasionally I would press the booster by accident. That said, I'm one of those who can't get used to playing FPSes on the iPhone so... Probably will pick this one up if I ever get an iPad + Fling controller.
