As far as I'm concerned this is the game of the year it has good graphics a good story lots of gameplay elements and enough to keep you busy for a long time. Looking forward to the DLC myself I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
I agree and dont know why this hasnt been mentioned at all in any of the front page reviews of the year
Fishlabs keeps talking about possibly expanding beyond mobile games, so I hope they make GoF2 for the Mac App Store.
If you want a game "similar" to galaxy on fire 2 on the PC I can heartily recommend X3:Terran Conflict. That game is deep.. like really friggin deep. It requires a lot of commitment from the user though. Don't expect to get instant gratification. It takes literally over 60 hours of game play until you start dominating in the game (getting enough money to start building fleets and star bases). Also the user interface is ridiculously convoluted and badly done which might be a deal breaker for some. It's worth trying to learn it though, if you like epic space trading/pirating/exploration. Cheers! bManic
I hate to be a stickler. It's probably the OCD in me. But, can you fix the spelling error in the help menu, "There are two types of shield." Should be "shields" if my english is correct. Thanks for all the hard work on making an excellent and deep game.
I just got the game today-absolutely loving it. Does anybody know where I can find a good ship for 50-60K credits? I know they exist, but I canĀ“t remember the plane where I saw one...
Gosh, I bet that if you did a version for Mac OS with good controls for keyboard and mouse/touch pad, you would sell a bunch on the Mac App Store and on other sites such as Steam. But my own selfish interest is for you to create more content and missions for the iPad version. I'm looking forward to the next update that will no doubt be out soon.
Absolutely incredible game. I bought it when it launched and played it for maybe an hour or so and knew it was going to be a good one but I didn't have a whole lot of time to spend playing it. I booted it back up a few days ago and all I can say is WOW. I logged 21.5 hours in only a few days. The story mode only took around 8 hours to finish but after that I became obsessed with getting an awesome ship (like the Aegir), getting incredible equipment for my ship, collecting all the blueprints, and discovering all the stations. Through those obsessions I ended up getting all the achievements and the VoidX ship. I'm sad that there's nothing else to accomplish but I had a blast getting addicted to this incredibly deep experience. I look forward to the DLC and hope that we see it sooner rather than later!
I'm a huge fan of this as well ! Loved Elite back in the 80's and then X2 in the early 00's (Amazing graphics) Now i've got this amazing game on my ipod touch. Love it. Looking forward to seeing updates or a sequel (I'm not some spammer or affiliated with this company by the way ! Just an ipod newbie and loving all these amazing games i'm finding daily. Costing quite a lot !)
So, it is difficult to tell, but is this going to be IAP or a free update to the game? I am of course hoping for a free update in support of the excellent sales that GoF2 has had.
Well, we'll have some free stuff and of course paid content as well. Stay tuned for more details to be reveiled on our blog fairly soon...
good game but could be better ive got a what i think is a good idea and im not sure whether or not it has already been said, (cause im not going to read 118 pages of stuff). I think you should be allowed to store stuff in the stations and other ships at stations. That way you could have a mining ship and a transporting ship and a fighting ship and not have to equip one ship with everything and be an overall lees effective ship. That and you don't have to constantly carry all the things that you want to keep.
Why would you want several ships? I'd rather have a fighting ship and keep mining equipment in my cargo so I can change at ANY station then have a fighting ship that has to go back to a specific station to pick up my other ship. It's hard enough when you have an item being produced and have to go all the way back to that station to pick it up or drop off parts (Unless you want to pay to have it shipped for you)
I bought GoF 3D waaay back when I stop remembering the exact year. Anyway, I loved the original and GoF2 did not disappoint. I would love to know an estimated time that the DLC wil be coming out to see if I should keep playing now and be ready for the dlc or quit playing and scramble to catch up when it comes out.
