I need help with one mission. Its the one where you must take samples from the voids ships. First I had to fight against 3 of them, while picking up the remains with my tractor beam and then after that I got sucked through the wormhole and found myself in the homesector of the voids. Now here comes the problem....the girl who is flying with me tells me that we have to get out of there and I head straight for the nearest wormhole, but before I can fly through I get shot to pieces. There is no outflying the enemies, they just tear me apart. I only managed one time to get back through the wormhole, but on the other side there were still 3 void ships and I had no energy left to fight them. So, does anyone here have tips for this mission? I am still flying the ship one gets from the beginning of the game, because I haven´t had enough money to upgrade or buy a new ship. Should I focus more on side missions and buy a new ship before trying this mission again or what? Any help would be appreciated!
Get better stuff for your ship. By the time I was on that mission, I was flying an Anaan and got through it without too much trouble. (Note I am playing on Hard mode)
I guessed as much. The thing is that I thought the main missions where time based, as they almost always said that I should get to such and such star system soon. Well I loaded an old save and now I will try to get a better ship and better equipment. Thanks guys!
Another thing that might help you survive is a stealth generator. If you manage to find one in the hanger, pick it up. It will require energy cells to be used, but you can find those in the hanger as well under the commodity section (where the minerals and electronics are) Stealth generators make you invisible to the enemy for some time, so they will not fire at you, even if you shoot at them. The cheapest stealth generator is around 25,000 bucks and energy cells are 300 a pop... each stealth generation can last about 20 seconds to an entire minute, depending on which one you've got... and each generation requires around 5 energy cells.
I've just started paying the first GoF. But I'm having a dilly of a time getting the controls. I know this is technically the wrong thread, but I'm posting here because I want to buy GoF2....but not if I can't get the hang of the control scheme(s) in the first game. Unless they're much different? I'm terrible at 3D spacial awareness, so 3rd person space shooters are usually something I avoid. But I love trading space gems!!!
The controls are similar to the first GOF, but it is much more user friendly. It is easier to aim and fire for example.
I use touch, since I'm playing it on the iPad. It is a hassle to use the accelerometer for the iPad lol.
i use accelerometer. i find it really hard to target enemies with the analog stick, as i cant seem to move the small increments.
pricey Now the graphics are sweet but the hard controls make this game worth 99 cents at best . Honestly for free with these bad controls , how am i supposed to have fun with this app.
99 cents If Iam to break open my wallet , I want solid games and solid controls. Till this gets updated , no thank for future business of my money going into thier wallet. I hate greedy developers put nice graphics , then game sucks.
again, have you tried using tilt controls? also, before before claiming a developer is 'greedy' you might wanna actually bear the so called 'bad controls' and check out the game a little. it's awesome. anyway, do you think all the people in this thread would be playing this game if it was so crap? no. no they wouldnt.
Yeah I haven't really heard anything wrong about the controls until now. I know the first GoF got a lot of complaints and they addressed it too later. GoF2 is a huge improvement over GoF, without the need to auto aim.
Where do you guys buy optics from? I only need around 20t of them to finish the Khador Drive but I can't find them anywhere! And to exgamer above: You are saying this game sucks just because you don't like the controls? Why don't you try a different control method and see for yourself how deep this game really is.
Well, some stuff like optics spawns randomly. However, if you want to find anything try the higher tech level stations, they spawn more stuff compared to lower tech every time you go there, so greater chance of finding what you want. Also, station inventory refresh every time you leave a system.
