Yep I have to agree with that. I played the game a bit on the iPad but I have to say that it doesn't improve the experience at all. The controls seems awkward and the graphics are just bigger versions of the iPhones which means that they actually look worse. I'll stick to the iPhone version. It's a recurring theme at least for me. I seem to prefer the IPhone versions of games. Cut the rope and rage are a good example.
Hmmm the game still crashes in the lounge for me. I'm in the Mido system at the beginning of the game and I'm on Val Hastra. The moment I click on Max Ethor in the lounge, my game crashes. I've repeated this 5 times.
I am having the same issue. I have spent around 20 hours with the game and never had a crash till this update happened. Now 4 of the bugs it says it fixed are happening to me constantly. I would avoid the update if you are playing fine so far.
For me that was happening before the update, so it is no different lol. If I see that guy, I just ignore him in the lounge.
*knock on wood* No crashing here. Have had an odd bug with the map (unable to tap on a planet to travel there) but reloading the game fixes it for a while. So since its been out a little while what did you guys start spending your cash on first? I'm still playing through the story missions (stopping for a side mission here and there) in the starter ship but I've got about 65k saved up so far. Looking like one of the terran ships with 4 primary weapon slots is about 300k.
Cabins??? Can someone help me? I cant seem to get the game moving. Im at the beginning and waiting for a guy to call me and let me leave the system im in. It says in the meantime to find jobs in the space lounge. So i did some missions but now the ones left are passenger missions and i need to add cabins to my ship. None of the stations in the system im stuck in sell cabins, or i cant find them in the hangars. I cant leave the system to go find them. What am i suppose to be doing?
Missions gets reset by travelling between stations or by taking on missions and canceling them. You could also buy some items then sell them as you travel between the stations. That'll reset some stuff in the stores and who knows, maybe a cabin would show up in the hanger.
Fishlabs you guys are awesome. I just fired up the new version on my iPad (been playing all along on it at x2) and am just blown away by the improved graphics. It's just beautiful! Couldn't stop taking screenshots! And a big thank you for the 6 new save slots!! I had to stop playing just to come here to post my gratitude! What an awesome game!
Anybody notice that some of the character images when you are talking to people in the lounge get screwed up after the patch? Like some of the characters have the bottom half of their bodies pixelated or they have an awkward line running through their face (Prevalent on Midorians)
I'm also having problems with crashing in lounge since the update (iPad). For me it's one of the vossk (nimmk tassk): every single time I click and happen to get that character, 'puft'! Completed the story mode long ago without such problems. I found it to run much smoother in the old pixel doubled mode on the iPad. Probably not surprising, but now I'm having to turn the details down to make it playable enough. :-(
Hmmm I don't have problems with running the game and of course running a doubled mode Itouch version is going to run smoother, since it requires less processing power.
Ok, I tried looking for the Mantis for the longest time. A whole day! But I can't find it, I know I've seen it around, but have not had the luck of seeing it again. I have enough cash to buy that, the veteran and the aegir at least once. But for the life of me, I can't seem to find it! Is it random or is there a set pattern? Like oh I don't know, Terran system, high tech stations. Or stations in "risky" systems?
want to get rich quick? enter the exciting and fast-paced world of black market organ trafficking! i got an aegir right at the five hour mark, here's how you can make two million bucks pretty quickly. don't bother with mining, missions, all that jazz: the real money is in intergalactic trade. it works pretty much the same way as in real life. buy low, sell high. this is most easily done in the organs market. first, don't spend too much money on extra crap like weapons. take a few missions like junk clearing and transport jobs until you have a little capital built up. you're going to need to complete the story until wolf-riesen (or whatever) is opened up. also, try to invest in a ship with a decent armor rating and cargo hold. you won't be able to buy much at this point but do what you can. again, it's important that we save up some capital for our initial investment. one of the stations vossk space has a slug guy in the space lounge that will sell you the map to the pan system. i don't remember which station it is exactly, but it's in the middle of vossk space, not one of the ones on the edge or anything. work with me here. it shouldn't be that hard to find. once you're able to travel to pan, head there. you probably want to invest in some shields, a booster, and some armor. you won't be fighting pirates, just trying to get to gates and stations as quickly as possible and avoiding conflict. now, in the pan system, one of the stations will always have organs for sale. they cost roughly $4,000 there, so you need a bit of capital to buy some. if you can only get five or ten, that's fine. the more you can get, the better. load up on organs and head for the wolf-rieser system. you can sell them there for a little over $6,000. this is a huge profit margin. while you're in the wolf neighborhood, check the hangar there for any implants or rare plants. if they're in stock, buy as many as you can to take on the return trip back to pan. implants give huge profits if you sell them in pan (something like $8,000 or so) and rare plants give a more modest $3,000 or so profit. that's pretty much it! it's boring as hell, but keep making those trips (thank you fishlabs for the fast-forward button, oh god) and each time you'll be able to buy more and more. the organs will always be in one of the pan stations, but you won't always find implants or rare plants back on wolf. make sure you check prices on other things as well. things like chemicals and water sell for a slight profit on pan and can be used to pad out your cargo bay if you can't afford anymore of the expensive trade items but still have space left. nanotech sells for a nice price on wolf, and you can usually buy it cheap on pan. it won't be long until you're swimming in cash and can't seem to pack all the organs you could possibly buy onto your el cheapo vessel. upgrade to a Real Trading Vessel with a nice sized cargo bay (you can probably cheat using the cargo compression upgrades) and ship even more. at the height of my trading empire i was taking 200+ organs to wolf on each trip. the money will seriously snowball and you'll be in a fancy ubership in no time.
