I did the last time. And this time the developer is talking about going to $9.99 so I will wait until the price drops to $4.99. Its just not worth grabbing games when they are first released anymore unless its a good sale.
I think the point of supporting the developer is that the worth is decided from their point of view, not yours. If you don't care much about supporting them, then do as you please (If you wait for a free version, you might as well pirate the game, as it will do the devs just about as little good.)
FF update The hours of gameplay are linked to the new FF feature. By FF'ing for 5 minutes between Jumpgate and Thynome station I added 10 minutes to my overall recorded gameplay hours. I would love to see an update incorporating energy cells into the devices they are used for, taking the cells out of your raw tonnage in cargo hold. For instance: you can equip energy cells to secondary weapon and hold thousands then you would need to equip cells as secondary weapon to use khador drive or cloaking devices.
Just got the game and started. WHY is mining sooo hard. Jesus I haven't been able to get one yet. Frustrating me, but the graphics, voice acting, and story are looking real good thus far.
If you didn't know, you can stop the mining by hitting the firing button, in which case gives you the ores you mined so far.
Here's a few tips. 1. Tap the directional joystick towards the direction you want to move the drill, instead of holding it down. 2. If the asteroid is about to blow due to your failure, quickly push the primary gun "FIRE" button to abort. This way you'll still receive what you have mined so far, instead of losing everything. This will also count towards medals as well. When I was using the initial drill, I hardly ever fully mined an asteroid. I always jumped ship when the bar was about to empty out.

This game is worth the price. Much, much better than the first. Personally I don't mind paying developers for making good games. They deserve the support and I want them to keep making good games (which means it needs to be worth their while). Waiting for $4.99 is understandable--the developer still gets paid--but too many people like to wait for free (or no more than $.99) despite the quality and size of the game.
I was disappointed by the brevity of the main story missions, but GoF 2 is quite literally the best adventure game (space sim, RPG whatever you wanna call it) on the iPhone. And yes, I believe it's better than Black Pegasus. Buy it yesterday. I've never wanted a sequel to an iPhone game so bad, save maybe for Rolando 2. I just want GoF 3 to have a lengthy campaign. Throw in some more evasive combat maneuvers too, and it will be GOLDEN.
After the update the App doesn't start anymore. I was already upset for losing my saved files, but I went on and uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It didn't work either. Now I lost my saved files and still unable to play it Am I the only one experiencing this?
Hi there, sorry to hear that. If you had backed up your iPhone save games would have been restored. If you had simply overwritten the game all save games should have not been lost. Too make things ultra bulletproof we even have implemented online save games through OpenFeint. No idea why your save games are gone :-/ This bug came with the new language selection. Really sorry about this. It is already fixed and update is submitted. We are anxiously waiting to be approved. Should go live any day now. Until then use this workaround: Try setting your iOS to English, then start the game and choose your desired ingame language. Then close the app and set your preferred iOS language again. I debated on this or Star Battalion and ended up getting Star Battalion, which I'm enjoying. But think I will pick this up right after I finish it (really sucks that niether of these have online dogfighting). I know I was concerned about the emphasis on trading, etc. in this game. Is it possible to get further in this game without doing much of that? Just really am more into the story/combat than trading, collecting.
It is! The developer posted a few days ago in the thread in the Upcoming iPad Games forum saying that the update has been submitted. Galaxy on fire 2 (universal update) - now submitted
