Would happily pay £10 for this. Tried it. Has potential with great graphics and it controls well but damn that main menu screen is freemium hell. Would love a stripped down version ! Found the menu confusing with so many options. Rangerlump Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2010 482 23 18 #3 Rangerlump, Jul 13, 2018 Last edited: Jul 13, 2018 MFI? EDIT: Yes it does. I downloaded the final game and....deleted two times due to the same disappoiment. Instead of cool 80 cartoons cutscenes and story, I was welcomed by menus that screams free to play. So why this post? Because....I just checked and spent over 18 hours on this game, after reinstalling it for the 4th time. The game is THAT FUN. Yes I still would have preferred the PS4 game, roguelite, story, cutscenes and all. But this one is really well done and super fun and despite the free to play menu/initial look....there is a solid and fun game here. They really nailed down the controls. At first they seem weird but after a bit you will control your ship and mech like a pro. Cruising into a dozen of incoming missiles, avoiding them, going past a enemy huge starship, making a full stop 360 turnaround and firing all you have to its exposed engines seeing it going to 100000 pieces never gets old. All in a blink of an eye. The core gameplay is super addictive and the f2p is pretty generous so far (I’m level 15 pilot now in sector 8). You can play as you wish. Ship/Mech health regen every 10-20 hours or so but you start with 25% of your total health and you have shields anyway. I was able to clear entire sectors just with that. You have only 4 slots to research ‘blueprints’ so when you fill those...you wait or you spend a currency (or play just for fun). Same currency is used to resurrect. I never used it and played a TON anyway, YMMV. The core gameplay is entering a sector completing the missions. Each one has an optional miniboss that gives you (part of) a blueprint that you can research. Usually you have to repeat (succefullly) said mission 2-3 Times to acquire the full blueprint and get (permanently) a ship upgrade. It’s not a big deal because generally you have access to 2 sectors before going to repeat some missions, and it’s always pretty varied. Each sector comes with new environmental hazards and different enemies. Till sector 5 it’s all pretty standard but then they introduce speed runs, enemy pilot assassins, huge aliens, HUGE mechs, etc.... Overall it’s pretty awesome so far. I don’t like the unnecessary humorous story bits and the f2p menus....but everything else is top notch. It’s really gorgeous to look at, with tons of little details. I wish they will port he real deal someday but so far I’m eating my own words and I’m having great fun with this game. It’s not your typical f2p cash grab...there is some serious fun gameplay here. I’m just sad I think not that many people will play it past the initial levels to see what they did in advanced sectors, and that’s a pity, because it’s really awesome. hbernritter Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2010 950 33 28 Inventory/Marketing Manager Toledo, OH #12 hbernritter, Jul 18, 2018 While this game is fun it leaves me with a sour taste for a completely different reason, I had bought skulls of the shogun 17-bits last iOS offering that got broken by ios9 and they promised they were beta testing fixes for over a year and never released it so I never even got halfway through. They just stopped contact with the community until boom new game. I didn’t and won’t forget. Doesn’t mean I won’t play because it is fun but I will only be a no money spent player zeroex Well-Known Member May 20, 2014 344 25 28 #13 zeroex, Jul 18, 2018 Since you're so far in the story, do you have any tips in terms of which bots to use? Pitta Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2008 3,410 128 63 Male Italy #14 Pitta, Jul 18, 2018 TBH I never really considered bots. I have tons of the gold currency (which is used to buy bots) and I’m not sure if there are other uses...so I saved it. I’m still using the initial 4 bots, they are level 8 now (you level them up with those ultra easy ‘bots’ fights). Maybe I’m wrong and I’ll regret this....but so far my only concerns were just surviving the missions and getting the blueprints in every sector (currently sector 9). I cruised sector 6-7 and now I’m short of blueprints...I feel a bit underpowered now so I’ll go back and get more gear. Sectors are getting really crazy now...with WAY bigger levels (you can now even avoid some fights and stealth run last patrolling ships sometimes). Not to mention those HUGE, and I mean HUGE, mechs. zeroex Well-Known Member May 20, 2014 344 25 28 #15 zeroex, Jul 18, 2018 Damn. I'm stuck on beginning of sector 6. The enemies do way too much damage. One shot strips all my shields. Do you remember what level you were? My mech/ship are level 4, player is level 13, and bots are 6/7/8... L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,390 397 83 #16 L.Lawliet, Jul 19, 2018 Does this have any offline play at all or is the game entirely online? Simoqsa Well-Known Member May 21, 2015 95 9 8 #17 Simoqsa, Jul 19, 2018 Twin-stick shooters on touch screens are always dissapointments imo. Pitta Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2008 3,410 128 63 Male Italy #18 Pitta, Jul 19, 2018 I think you have stats way over mine when I was there. I remember I spent quite a bit on sector 5-6 to get all enhancements tough. If I remember well I had like 42 health (25% total, couldn’t bother to wait or resurrect) and 30 or 40 shields. Against enemies that strip my shields with one hit (and then kill me with another one) I usually just fire and run away, or I try to attract them near fire or those lava pools then I shoot everything (the bubbles damage the enemies). One fundamental trick is learning to fire going backwards (I found it helped me considering the accelerator button like a switch so when I want to go backward I just swipe down on it). Hope it helps!!! Pitta Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2008 3,410 128 63 Male Italy #19 Pitta, Jul 19, 2018 It’s just online as far as I know, like your typical f2p game.
