As an avid Galaga player I was pleased to see this arrive as I was in the world top 10 for Galaga on Xbox And could get over a million on Galaga and '88. A few impressions - its great graphically and sonically - the finger control is .....ok....except when it drags the dock up and then you will die. I wish the non classic control had less sensitivity as it should be like Gridrunner on iOS which had a perfect one finger control system and didnt require you to have your finger over where the ship is....I can see a lot of grinding for ships and one of the ships has a very annoying firing mechanism which if you get stuck with is useless against bosses, it sorts of fires in a circle around you..... def 8/10...hopefully with a few improvements up to 9 And why no BT controller support ? Hard to get all the ships unlocked this Apple Arcade version because you gotta earn a ton of those pink emblems. Feels like the old version just with no IAP, but the same IAP mechanics are left with the timers. Games like this with no tweaks to the old IAP system really sours the Apple Arcade experience in my opinion. The Star Trek game, for example, works very well without IAPs, and so does Asphalt 8. As an aside, glancing at the review for that Kingdom Rush Frontiers TD+, looks like they just removed the IAP heroes. Seems like people like the change (of course) while still commenting on the game is hard without saying they feel forced to pay for the new heroes! I won't comment about Apple Arcade. lol. Personally, it's kind of a bonus (and for me a throw away service) for the family plan for Apple Music and storage. I have unlocked 3 ships so far and wondered as im new to it whether I could just "buy" the other ships so I see you used to be able to before it was Apple Arcade...shame as its a good game...just needs more credits to access ships quicker and let me use my xbxo controller.
