I had to sit through two ads instead of the usual one. Is this normal? Also, I'm finding double-ships to be a bit wider than I'd like. I don't find having them to be much of an advantage.
I purchased the no ads so I don't know but I've never seen a game force someone to sit through 2 ads. Has it happened repeatedly? The double ships are wide but the enemies are a bit different. My complaint would be that the double ship leaves after a while! I noticed that and I got a little upset. So it's basically a power up. Billy

Well I guess that's true. In this one there's no ship to sacrifice since you only get one ship. I've been playing all evening. I'm concentrating on upgrading Galaga and then I'm going to work on Galaxian. I've also unlocked warp level 4. I do like that they give you the option to watch an ad if you want to warp instead of using the warp capsules. You always have a choice if you run out of the capsules. I think they did a great job of thinking things through. You really cannot go wrong here for $6 total. I've been playing for hours, having fun, and watching ads for the rewards. Billy
A nice remake of the classic, but with a few issues IMO. First of all, battery drain is huuge. The backgrounds are too bright and colorful, what makes it hard to spot enemy fire. The coin doubler doesn't double mission rewards, although the description says it doubles all game coins. Also, I wish pickups would rotate while floating on screen, so the player could choose which power up to activate, instead of relying only on luck. And iCloud sync would be really nice too. I tried connecting to Facebook but it doesn't seem to use it to save game progress.
Seriously, what's the deal with these guys? All a lot of us want is a perfect old-style Galaga game that's just as fast and faithful to the original! We want the original!!!! Just like that! Why do they not seem to be able to do that year after year after year?! Drives me nutz! #
Great game thus far! Bigrand, there is another Galaga Collection from 5 years ago that is basically premium, but I'm not sure if it works with iOS 8 9 or 10...
There is the original and it works perfectly too. I love playing it. I have to go get the link to the AppStore and I'll come back and post it. It's the arcade version so it's NOT the wimpy console degree of gameplay. This game is great for what it is and definitely scratches that itch for me. Billy
What warp are you on? I'm not really having any issues with the background. I agree about everything else though you are right about the coins. I just got my free gift box and it had 39 coins and the second box HD 4 coins. What's the point of that? Then I'm offered an ad to double it all lol. I'm going to go to Bandai's help desk and open a ticket with all of our requests to see if we can get a response. I will paste a link to this thread as well. You never know if a PR person might stop by. I too noticed the Facebook login was darkened with no way to login. Luckily all purchases are restorable so I'm not as worried at this point yet. It definitely needs to be addressed though. I'm on the fence on whether I should lower my rating a star. I really am enjoying the game but it does have some issues as you've outlined. None of these new iterations do it for me. You're not talking about the 30th anniversary one are you? I have played various versions, and they were either slow or had other issues that for me just didn't cut it. If you can find the original that's up to snuff, go ahead and point me in that direction! Like to have that! (The original arcade version. ) #
What the hell!! It is called "The Namco Arcade" I purchased every cabinet because again I'm old school and loved all of the games. The iteration of Galaga in this compilation is the true Arcade version. I had the controls set with the left/right buttons to the left. You can slide your finger back and forth very fast just like using a joystick. The reason I know this is the arcade version is the arcade glitch is present. The difficulty is the proper arcade difficulty. On iOS it's my favorite pure iteration. The thing is I can't find it anywhere. I had to go to my purchase history to find it. That's not good. All of those awesome games are pulled???? They should have updated it? Damn!!! Billy
Can't seem to find an option for relative touch. Am I missing something or have I traveled back to 2009 when developers couldn't figure out how to make shmups work on a touchscreen?
I unlocked only up to warp 4, bcoz I'm saving coins for upgrades. I do have a hard time tracking enemy fire when the action gets faster, but I feel I'm improving.. That's really nice of you, Billy, thanks! I left a review on the App Store pointing out those issues, but honestly I doubt a big company like Bandai is caring about what players think. Still, the monetization in this game is surprisingly modest, especially considering its big name, so maybe things are changing. FB login did work for me, but apparently it's just for leaderboards and friend challenges.
Love the game, bought a ship, but not playing or buying more until relative touch is implemented. Huge, huge oversight, especially considering its been in soft launch for a while..
It would've been cool if they could've just ported over Galaga Legions Dx to mobile I really liked that one It was pretty good With that said this probably the next best thing A hybrid I think with that version and the original The gameplay is closer to the original though It's a fun & challenging version of the game The f2p monetary system is done really well Your not forced fed ads every few minutes and have an option if you want to use ads to help you out Also the IAP's are pretty fair and I think with $6 that you can buy different ships or a coin doubler and a couple ships and pretty much have a premium game with ad removal I think game progression and difficulty is pretty well balanced and the controls are pretty spot on. Great job on this one This is just my opinion on of what I experienced so far
After level 2, all my enemies just disappeared and I had to do a hard reset. Othwerise, fun little game. I like it.
