This sounds like a most excellent update, Moonfish folks! Thank you very much, great customer support. Hope I can make time for an extended playing session on the weekend...
Thanks for the update, tried it quickly and found sensitivity a little slow now, perhaps add a sensitivity slider? its not enough to put me off and update itself seems good.
Sorry but the update has done almost nothing to improve the gameplay. Might as well just delete it as the games fundamentally flawed. Was hoping for a GOF2 type experience but with more meat to it. Sadly the ship combat is awful, the controls are bad. Great shame as this could have been an amazing game.
Well, to each his own. I like GOF2 but its little too simple for my taste. This game on the other hand while not perfect does have plenty of things that keep me engaged. The game was completely unbalanced before the update but its entirely different after the update. I have managed to snag 1 cruiser and 2 destroyer blueprints in a short time. So the imbalance has definitely been addressed. I love tinkering around with different parts, exploring different systems to find shipyards that can build better ships and rock-paper-scissor type battles. As far as comparison with GOF goes, the game never claimed to give you the similar experience. In fact if you read the description that devs provided they made it a point to stress that the game-play was considerably different from GOF. So GOF comparisons are unfair. While this game is far from extraordinary, it provides enjoyable experience that is completely commensurate with the game's price.
Do you remember where you got it? I cruised around for quite a few hours already, and did not even find a Destroyer blueprint. Best I got was a Soul(Frigate) blueprint ;( well, it is an improvement from the Archangel, but still... @bashesh: same question for you Mind giving a hint or two on that? I robbed ships of every faction I can handle (first 3 systems), but as I wrote above, still did not get anything past an entry-level frigate. Oh, and I agree on the joystick sensitivity: It could be a bit higher, a slider to control it would be great.
Talk about odd luck I got 3 Cherubim Destroyer blueprints within an hour after my last post. Now, off to pirate the money needed for my shiny new ships. Another question: Did anyone find a system where the Pirates use Destroyers? In the first 3 storyline systems, they use Frigates, and in the 4th it jumps right up to Cruisers.
Extra slots for equipment storage - not impressed Hello Moonfish: I ran out of storage space for parts, so I decided to shell out some money for credits and buy me one extra page for each category. And what do I see? After buying one page, another one opens to buy. And no indication what the maximum of possible pages is. Sorry, not good customer service here. Question 1: What is the maximum number of pages available per category? Question2: Mind giving me a refund on the credits I bought? Or come up with a different solution? If it makes sense, I am perfectly willing to buy a bigger package, but right now I feel a bit cheated, see explanation below: Had I known this, I would have gone for a bigger credits package right away; and if it is worth it for buying more pages, I will buy that one instead. I am just not willing to spend twice when not all information that influences my decision is presented to me up front: My impression was that I cannot buy more than one additional page per category, so I figured the 125 credits package would be enough. Considering my hoarding tendencies, I can never have enough storage space And I do not want to spend credits on money or ship blueprints, as I plan to gain them over the course of the game. And a suggestion for improvement: I really miss a way to sort items on the pages. Would it be possible to implement a drag&drop mechanic for moving parts around?
Help with finding Destroyer blueprints needed Alright folks, I really need your help with finding a Destroyer blueprint or two. Even getting one of the level 2 Frigates would be a nice improvement. Did anyone find those already ( e.g. Souls II ) ? Any hints would be greatly appreciated. I just checked the pricetag on my Cherubim Cruiser blueprint...and it is a tad high for what I currently have in the bank. While I could gather the money (getting between 80k - 100k per fight against Cruisers in Beythlea system) , this feels like too much of a grind to be any fun.
Yes your absolutely right, to each his own. What I got from this game was different to my expectations. I gave it a whirl and was hugely disappointed. I too like games to have more meat then GOF, but my main enjoyment comes from combat, and this game fails in that compared to GOF.
I had the same situation, had two cruisers blueprints but didnt have enough credits to make nexessary upgrades to the shipyards. I ended up beating the 3rd boss (one who had kidnapped the parents) and got the principalties 2 blueprint which is a very nice destroyer indeed. As far getting earning more money, go to the information center in bythlya system and choose the first tailing mission. No fight necessary and it nets you around 800K in one run. I did around three and got enough money to build my first cruiser. I wish there was a way to trade blueprints with other players. I have aroung 6 cruiser bps and 2 destroyer bps. On the side note, bramblett since you have already expressed your negative opinions and said that you deleted the game, how about you refrain from posting unhelpful and snide comments in this thread. I respect your opinions and wish you would do the same in return.
The game is boring. There is no drive in it. Also i get tired of music wich sounds like supermarket jingles.
Critcal opinions are necessary for the consumer to make informed choices. And you can't "respectfully" ask another member to simply not show up on a topic because you don't agree with him or her.
I think i will delete this game for now, maybe come back to it later. its pretty bad when i have to force myself to play it then switch to GoF2.
For what it's worth, I like GPP better than GOF2, at least so far. @bashesh: Thanks for the tip with the 800k reward mission, that one helps alot. Flying around with my new Principalities2 Destroyer, and collecting money and equipment for upgrading to Cruisers. If you still fly the Principalities2, what equipment do you use? I currently have one normal and one shieldbreaker missile, strongest models I could get. Energy Recharger for Support. 2 Shields (best ones I could find, DM-5-E), 2 +SP items, and an AIM-7-J tower (+12% angle, -2% attack) that I looted somewhere. And I managed to beat the "kidnapped parents" boss with 2 Soul Frigates. Moonfish, if you read this, that could still need some balance tweaking: On the first 2 tries, I got blasted to bits in seconds, as usual. 3rd try, and I managed to destroy one ship quickly, but got blasted by the 2nd ship coming around. On the 4th try, both enemy ships started out flying away from me, and took a long time to turn around and do something. The first ship I destroyed while it was turning to get an aim on me: no damage taken, piece of cake. The other enemy ship killed my wingman, but that bought me enough time to start chipping away at it. I only had to survive one barrage of ship #2, after that it turned away from me again, and did not pose any real threat; instead it excelled at playing sitting duck. Pirates and the ships they use: Still feels a bit odd to me, that in the first 3 systems (Zilatus, Hydreeto, Pyxikli) the pirates only use Frigates, then jump to Cruisers immediately in Beythlea. A better progression could be: Zilatus: Frigates, no change. Hydreeto: Frigates and enhanced Frigates. Pyxikli: Destroyers and enhanced Destroyers. Beythlea: Cruisers, no change.
[BUG] Cannot remove equipment from ships Like the title says, after the last update I no longer can remove Weapon and Parts modules from my ships. This applies both to my ship and my wingman. I tested everything I could come up with, e.g. putting the ship into storage, removing the Crew first. Unfortunately no success. Simply nothing happens: no error message or anything else. Removing Support modules still works currently. UPDATE: Support module with bug found. I cannot use one of my support modules anymore, it is darkened in the storage view, cannot be sold, nor swapped in for something else. What I did was exchange an SP-K-6E repair module for an EN-K6-A . After that, the SPK6E is unusable as described. All other Support modules seem to work normally still.
Hey guys just started playing this as I like the gof series but I completed gof2 in 2 days so something a little more in depth seemed like a no brainier. Seems a little slow at the start though, I'm going round defeating other ships and doing the mining trading that I was told to do but it doesn't seem to be giving me any more actions to do, any advice?
