Nope. But I can't think of a better way to spend two dollars.

Yeah Luciano, those are some really skilled iOS gamers you mentioned, especially the last one! Haha. Keep at it, you'll be right up there in no time :)

Upgraded GL2 and won GL1 from completing Shielded Army 9-12. Sweet!

Tried my hand at SA 1-12 endurance, but no luck completing it yet...but I am ranked 4th or is it 5th? on SA, behind you!

I probably have way more than 5 of your challenges outstanding. I should count them.

And maybe work on a few!

Edit: that would be 8 outstanding challenges.

    Those levels are brutal, Nice!

I still haven't been able to beat the SA endurance challenge either. Got to the bosses a couple times, only to die by their bullets...

Wow! I didn't realize I had sent you that many!

Oh my gosh, hi. Wow, such a privledge to be amidst such avid warriors within this virtual society. I feel like you guys are the masters. I'm here still trying to figure out how to add a profile picture.

I really would like to thank my stubbornness for not using guitar pics as my right thumb is callused which allows my Galactic endurance to increase.

I also give credit to my parents who together created a child with big eyes that can see a lot of the screen, including the little bullets that try to sneak up on my ships.

And I really like video games. If there's no love, it will be stale. <<a quote from my grandma about baking, but I feel like it's applicable in this instance also.

Took me only 2 weeks to figure out my profile picture! Yep, I'm pretty proud of that record. **pats self on back**

Glad Quinn got you to join the board. Welcome! I told everyone here of your mightiness, but they still try daily to obtain an ever so brief screenshot besting your score. :-D

A fellow guitar player and game liker?! Humorous and multi talented?! Please, let me assist you in getting a profile picture up.

Select 'Forums' at the top of the main page. Hover over your user name in the upper right and select "User Control Panel". Under 'Settings & Options' on the left, select 'Edit Avatar'. From there you'll have the option to either enter a url image, or upload an image from your PC. Recommended size is 68 X 68 pixels.

Might I recommend a guitar? Or an alien? Or how about one of your grandmother's delicious apple pies?

Oh sure, leave me hanging for 2 full weeks and just give the information away. I see how it is! Which bullet / alien did you hate the most again, that's totally gonna be the star in the next world. :-D

HAHA! In all seriousness, I will hopefully have some aliens to post tomorrow. Till then, here is one I didn't end up getting to use and probably won't use. Just didn't feel right, maybe in a theme pack of sorts?

You know, fellas. I've absolutely been reflecting for the past half hour alone with my thoughts, not trying to figure out how to change my profile picture even though I have clear instructions on how to manage it. And I've decided it's way radder to just not have one. Kind of overrated. Also pretty certain I sent myself a private message. Anyway, i love the enthusiasm and energy and I hope everybody get the screenshots and scores for which they strive!

And...Slightly obsessed with lumberjack alien. NBD

I hope everyone is doing finger pushups right now!!

HA! I'll never tell! I just got a little over excited having the grand master show up and wanted to help her. I actually had to go through the process manually to figure it out again. And then she decides they're "overrated" and doesn't want one! Just picking, Fauxlina =D

Yep, it's a lumberjack. In space. What's he doing there? He doesn't belong in space!! THERE AREN'T EVEN TREES IN SPACE!!!

Seriously though, looking forward to seeing any new aliens whenever you get a chance to post them.

Don't mean to butt-in to the conversation and derail it.....(ahem. I played guitar and bass and was in a punk/emo band that eventually went nowhere and a emocore band that never left the studio. I get cool points don't I??)

Anyway, I was bored last night and this morning and decided to download and reinstall any game I could find somewhat similar to this. Even games like Plasma Sky and .Decluster (Yea, I was REALLY bored and have a huge social life.) and I was happy to figure out that out of the 20 or so games I played, this game by far was the best one. I had way more fun playing this than any other. Big points went to buying and upgrading ships. I'm a sucker for stuff like that. I gotta have the old carrot on a stick to keep me interested in something for more than 10 minutes, so congrats to CS54 for what it's worth for making it to number one on my shmup list. Maybe I'll do a top 10 video or something? Any reason for forcing people to hear my sexy, soothing voice.

Just wondering. What does CS54 stand for anyway??

You know what's funny, I've said this before, but I actually did not intend to make this type of game, I just wanted to play one. Like you, I downloaded all of them that were out there. The best ones I found were just too modern, fun, but modern, like sky force, and the BEST retro version was probably chillaxian from what I could tell, a lot of the other ones were really boring or horrible as you say.

I even paid the 5 bucks for Galaga, but it was like they were trying so hard to stick to controls that weren't fitting of a touch screen that it lost it's impact. Thats when I thought perhaps there was room for a version that attempted to do it right. :)

I'd be honored to be part of your top 10!!

CS54 really just stands for "Charles Schulze 54" (from your video, its pronounced "Schultz like the peanuts guy / Charlie Brown), and I have the #54 from when I was a kid and saw a Studio 54 poster with Salma Hayek, and kind of adopted the # as my own. If we introduce your ship, we may just need to bring in the lumberjack alien! LOL

BTW, below is a screenshot of a prototype I did of Galactic Nemesis in September of 2014. I was just trying to get the touch controls down / flight paths for aliens, looks a lot different huh! Seems like I started yesterday, but I guess it's been a while! :-D

Lol, sorry for butchering the last name. I'm good for that. Love the story behind the name. I always find it interesting how people come up with screen names, game titles, ect.

I had Galga in the crop of games I played. I didn't wanna get lynched, so I kept my mouth shut about it. Haha, but in all honesty, this game I had the most fun with. Not that I'm some popular critic or something. I'm only just starting out now, but the last thing Id want to do is ruin my so so good name already by saying something was good that wasn't. Lol.

The Lumberjack thing would be cool for a themed add-on. I still wanna see my ship in your game SOMEHOW though!! Lol

459,185 on TL and currently ranked first! Woohoo. I somehow managed to rack up 229,000 on the 1-12 endurance, even after getting crushed by the Boss spiders with more than half of the wave unfinished...going from full power to dead in the blink of an eye. It happened so fast, I was shocked. I don't know If I'll ever replicate that clean of a run again.

I love the prototype screen shot! The aliens look rad.

Noen: What bands were you in? I use to see a lot of punk/hc bands in the 90's.

    AKD: Come get some, son!

@Noen, I totally get it. I did my best to not ruin the glory of Galaga, but only honor it. I bought it for Nintendo, Gameboy, and play it whenever I get a chance at the arcade. Definitely a classic! Glad I could pay a tad of respect towards it. :-D

@paulkane - that's a pretty epic 1-12 endurance score!! Maybe I'll make a super super super blocky theme pack for the game too.

That's really interesting about your bands, NOEN. I wouldn't say going off-topic is bad, as long as we talk about the game too.

I took piano lessons for 11 years starting in third grade. I liked piano, but didn't like the regimen of "you have to practice for 30 minutes a day". Around 10th grade, I started realizing I could learn to play guitar by transposing by ear into tablature, and also by reading tab along with some of my favorite music (Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Metallica).

My first band was awesome (IMO of course). We recorded our own original songs at my singer's dad's little trailer out in the middle of nowhere. He was a sound guy. We recorded all the instruments and vocals in one take, as if we were playing a gig. We played mostly Nirvana covers, and a bunch of original stuff at local bars and coffee shops. Probably the most fun and memorable time of my life.

The top 10 video would be sweet. I gotta say, Plasma Sky is a REALLY good shooter as well. Anyone interested in the genre should check it out.

Chillaxian didn't hold my attention for too long, although I do really like the retro look and plan on keeping it on my iPhone for a rainy day. Now, Sky Force 2014... That was my favorite game of 2014. I still play it to this day. It's perfect IMO. But it's not retro either, so it's not really a fair comparison to the awesome game that is Galactic Nemesis. [EDIT] I totally intended on recommending Glorkian Warrior but it slipped my mind. Such a light hearted, funny take on Galaga. Super polished too!

It must be so cool to play the final build and then step back and look at where it all began. So cool. You can really appreciate the "little" things like the swirling backgrounds and alien detail. Thanks for sharing, Charlie!

Very nice Paul! I was a bit angry when your "challenge beat" notification popped up. :) It's all good. I'll be taking care of that very soon. I managed to top my high score in Shielded Army today, so I'm in first on that leaderboard.
