Yes I only just noticed this yesterday and took advantage of the sale price and was playing late last night, excellent game and really polished and enjoying so far. I'll be leaving a 5 star review in the app store soon.
HA! No offense taken, just a silly video. :-D Thanks for playing, and glad it has a good home on your iPod!!!
OMG! Someone I know got a ship named after them... Can't wait to dive into the update today! So excited and 50 achievements?! Yes!
Let me know what you think of the latest! On the settings page, there is a "Sync" Achievements" button that will try & report all the one's you've already earned to Game Center. While you play, it will also attempt to report any already achieved items from that section. haha:-D Full disclosure, due to a short timeline to fix a really bad iOS 9 crashing bug (shakes fists at apple), I missed a Game Center bug that won't report your "Electric Steel" scores. I've already submitted an update (1.03) that is currently pending review. So it will probably be a week or so. - Charlie
Notes from a Twitter convo with Charlie Its definitely a fun game. My fave thing so far is the boss ship with the heavy artillery. Thats a fun extra element. Oh and it took me a few tries to realize that I could drag all the way to the top. I just assumed it was like old school galaga and stuff where I was restricted to the lower part of the screen. Maybe drop the ship up top initially so it triggers the thought to users that they can go high up? 1 thing that Im not sure I like is that I cover the a lot of the screen with my hand while Im dragging around. Maybe drop the score to the bottom to create a drag zone or something like that? Im sure you thought and tried many things but thats my only complaint so far. I think I know what my issue is with the dragging and hand covering. I cant tell when I get hit. Two things would help. Change my damage particle effect to red and expand it larger that enemy white particle. This would be a nice visual cue. Also vibrate the phone when I get hit. Let users turn it off to save battery, of course, but I love that kind of feedback. (Then we started talking about 3D Touch. Charlie talked about using it to duck under and enemy) I suggested it magnetize instead. The harder you press it slowly moves the ship towards your finger, since you're creating a depression or point of heavy gravitational force. Whether it applies to just the users ship or to all elements on the screen is open for debate. I also can't help but think there's a double touch mechanic awaiting discovery. Not sure what yet but I'll keep playing and see if anything pops into my mind.
You talkin' bout me? Thanks so much, Charlie! I tried the first level of Electric Steel and got whooped hardcore. Decided to fully upgrade my ship (it could have been the most powerful one ya know ) and have another go. Looking forward to getting back into this awesome game! My little birds on Twitter have informed me that another TA member has their own ship as well.
PSA: Make sure to re-up your review for the new update. I noticed there was only one review popping up when I updated. Oh, and your bird may have heard right AKD.
Thanks for the reminder. Just updated my review. Here it is: I've played many shmup games, and Galactic Nemesis is by far my favorite. I've sunk countless hours into this super-addictive and rewarding game. The developer obviously knows how to make a quality iOS title, and is still maintaining it with updates (the latest adds tons of Game Center achievements and a whole new set of levels). The graphics and gameplay are spot-on. I literally can't think of a single bad thing to say about this! Simply put, this is the best retro shooter I've played on the App Store. Well worth the low asking price!
The newest update hit today. Game Center is registering scores for Electric Steel now & the game auto logs you in, which is great. Make sure you guys leave a review on the App Store as they are reset after each update. Electric Steel is a killer! I've only been able to make it to level 3, wave 2. EDIT: beat stages 1-4 with the help of shields and lasers =P The electric bullets that the aliens drop from the sky are rocking the crap outta me. There are also normal bullets that start like usual but then cross the screen horizontally. The new levels are BRUTAL!!! I like it!
Apple TV : TVOS Galactic Nemesis is now available for TVOS. If you get a chance to try it out, let me know how it can be improved!! - Charlie
I asked this in the Android section, but figured I'd ask here too. Due to piracy, I'm considering making Galactic Nemesis for Android free with an in-app purchase. Possibly giving away the 1st - 4 stages, and the rest requires an unlock. I'm curious what the community thinks? Reason I'm considering is that I heard a recent statistic that a game like Monument Valley only received 5% legit downloads on Android. - Charlie
I think that would be the best way to do it man. Your gonna lose your ass if you try putting it out on android as a paid game up front. It's like the Wild West over there.
You ain't kidding. When I had my android device there was a site just by googling that was professionally done to pirate games. Made me sick. It's why mobile gaming is where it is. I'd absolutely release it that way Charlie. Don't lose money. You have one of the best games I've ever played on my iPhone. I'm not just saying that. It's the truth. Hell I wish you'd release some level packs so I can send you more money. I actually want to give you more money lol Billy
