This looks AWESOME! Any idea what the gameplay time will be on this one? Im hoping this will be a really long game...
Awesome trailer. Now you've got me wanting to listen to Portashed... And does that player marker remind anyone else of the White Knight from Magic Realm? /
I would like to add that I find your use of the palette colors simply incredible. The teaser seemed almost 3D at times, with various parallax and coloring (almost the reds). Like this shot http://toucharcade.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Screenshot_galactic_keep_2.jpg It' simply awesome how the red of the shadowed dice stand out over the blend red of the card...it really seems a boardtable with a dice on top. I love that. Now we saw the art is original and fine, alla seems clear and fine (hud, mechanics, and so on)...now give me just some good stories to play with interesting scifi locations/dialogues/branches...and I'll be in heaven. A bit sad to read the game is still a bit off regarding release date...I was under the impression you were targeting for a 1Q or maybe a little later....just 'how off' are we talking now? The wait is really unbearable. Cannot wait to see a longer gameplay video, maybe with something else other than combat.
Maybe I'm wrong and no doubt someone else will correct me, but I was under the impression they will include different 'stories/quest/missions' in the game, maybe even unrelated. I would like that so (opposed to one big campaign) because I personally tend to play (A LOT) on my iPhone for shorter times (as opposed to, let's say, The Witcher on PC or Final Fantasy on console)...so many 'short' (like some hours than you can span in some real time days of playing) missions would be preferrable, at least for myself. They could easily add more mission (as in app purchases) in the future. I'm under the impression there is a great deal of replabilty of those mission, with lots of branches.
The 'Uber Mission' The game starts with an opening scenario that will allow you to begin by choosing one of a group of characters (you can exit out of missions and chose someone else to go in later if you want). There's a 'home base' of sorts: an ancient, derelict spacecraft. Time/space travel plays a big role in how the game is set up at the beginning. Generally, you'll have an overall goal but that goal will require you to take various people to several places in time and space (five for now). Within each of these missions you will be trying to complete your 'uber mission' goal while also trying to resolve the issue within the particular location you've selected. The branching paths in the story will add a lot of replay. We're trying to pack in as much content as we can (unlockable characters, lots of weapons, specials, items, hidden objectives, side-quests etc.) to make the experience as long as possible.
Can you please have this all done and on iTunes by yesterday? Please? Many thanks for your indulgence.
We're working on a local/wifi multiplayer mode that's versus (PvP). Right now it won't include the whole game, it will be one specific (and thoroughly replayable) mission....but we are planning on expanding. The single player is certainly the focus though. We will have add on in-game purchases of complete 'modules' that will have new missions, new species of playable characters, new planets, weapons etc. For example, we're thinking of having a 'mission pack' that takes place on Earth during the American Civil War.
That teaser video? Awesome! And while I'm not much of a history buff, a Civil War module sounds really intriguing. As for an iPad version, that would be wonderful, and the iPad's not even on my radar at this point.
There needs to be more games like this. Simple, Creative, Addictive & Insanely Deep! I could have nothing but games like this and Sword&Poker on my iphone and I'd be quite content.
Trailer Easter Egg We threw a little bonus in at the end of the trailer. It's barely visible but the last fight in the trailer (about 40 secs in) is against a robot...named 'Panther Uteri' who was created by toucharcade user Walsh06, a runner-up in our character creation contest!
