OK guys, here is my LAME attempt. I didn't get home from work till almost 8pm EST. I can't figure out how to install GIMP on my MAC as I have never installed anything on it before...Severe newbe! To research I would need reliable internet, but mine is super flippy tonight. I had to type this in Text Edit so I could get it in when it worked. Crud, I have less than 20 min, and I can't connect...AUGH!

So I resorted to a text image...Please don't laugh too hard!

Um, you're ASCII art attempt got screwed up after the formatting. I can see it while, quoting, but otherwise... When installing it, did you see a picture of a dog? Just double-click it, and it'll run. Drag and drop the files to applications and you're good to go. You don't install the same way as Windows, buuut you probably figured that out.

 

This what you had in mind Snoderlye?

I just typed in some placeholders (dots and dashes) where I wanted space and made them white. I can see it needs more work, but maybe you can get it how you want from here.

 

More so yes! It was so cute in textedit. I can't seem to stay on the internet tonight. I will give it another go.

Sent you one back. You need the X11 environment, apparently. Not sure if it'd work, but I could probably send the app to you via email if you want. It's kinda late, though, so you're call if you still want a shot at the contest.

And I changed my mind. Two more entries. I used the same trick for both, color to alpha to get rid of the black background, but hey, they have clever quips.

Edit: Scratch out that first one, doesn't say "Galactic Gunner".

Oh thank you so much!!! I did manage to get it some what close. I have been fighting to get back on the internet for 40 min or so and I just posted as soon as I did. So I didn't see your fix till now.

Just a little update:

I gave the code on the info disc to Jerky so that he could get one. Guess what? It isn't a promo code! It's another puzzle! This may be the toughest one too. First I had to find out where to go, then an 80 mile round trip, and now we STILL have to decode this thing!

We are hard at work on this. Anyways, just thought I'd mention it!
