its either a: some lurker took it b: the captain took it or the dreaded c: the trepidoids got it EDIT: i forgot one thing, maybe some guy took it and either put it in his computer or threw it away
Actually I was throwing something away in the parking lot garbage and took a peek when the lid was up LOL! Didn't touch anything though... I'm getting caught up on this thread then I'll post more and some pics. thanks for all the encouragement too...it helped. EDIT: Gonna resize then upload them to my seerver, or photobucket. Nothing too interesting though I think
Photos Okay let's try this photo stuff.... 1st photo...me...determined...uh....on my way to San Francisco. Recognize that street name? Killer view...bit foggy though. At long last...THERE IT IS!!! took 1:20 to get there approx. F'n nuts! I have arrived! more to come.....
I searched inside, around corners with my camera and flash, then inspected the pics to see if anything was in there... Stupid alien scum!!! You know what I think of you!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took video too with my smaller camera but...naaah... Edit: last image removed
you should edit the hell out of some of them just to screw with us, then post the real pics in a few hours
Drove my truck up there. I did 4-5 laps around that spire...looked high and low. Stuck my head inside, got spiderwebs and gunk in my hair...well what hair I have. Reached in scary dark places, poked my camera in and took some photos around corners so I could see. Moved wood, rocks. I tell you if it was well hidden I would have found it, but there's no way any bystander could find it unless it was easily visible from the outside. You can't walk into the thing. So after 20 mins to half an hour 3 kids came up and sat next to the spire. The had a guitar and a flute and were smoking a joint. I asked if they'd seen any aliens and they said, "Not yet! But we will!" Okay they didn't say that. So I left empty handed, totally bummed. I really wanted to find the thing, and if it was still in there, I would have. It was over a 3 hour trip but it was cool. Would have been so much cooler if Jerky could have gone! Well I tried for ya dude! That code may still be floating around somewhere.
Actually if I would have found it I would have done something, and me and Jerky even mentioned holding the disc hostage and having our own puzzle...but not finding it took the wind out of my sails.
I leave you guys for 5 hours, just 5 hours, and I get this in return.... Thank you Schplurg!! Thank you! A grown up men spends an hour and 20 minutes, and $15 to see if little green men (oh wait, they're red!) have dropped a disc between a bunch of dead trees in SF???? You deserve a medal, the Order of the Cosmos at least!!! Thank you for going there, without you we would all have been condemned to spend the rest of our life thinking "I should just go and have a look right now".
Hmmm...maybe I missed a spot....? I kept thinking "Do not leave until you KNOW it is not there". I went to The City, then through it to the other side to find this place. And no prob, it was fun and worth it. Finding it would have been a trip. This is the greatest thread I think I've ever seen.
It has, and seriously, get it. It probably the best touch-shooter out there. Instead of getting a HUD with an unchanging view, you get a first person view of a swooping ship dodging all sorts of space debris and trepizoids. On the third level, the view was so cinematic that I thought it was a cutscene. GET. IT. If the Captain ever decides to hit Florida (or in 4 years, and more unlikely, Boston), I will be there in a heartbeat. So glad I found Touch Arcade. It'd be a cool memento. Maybe it could be hosted on ezone? Take gaming to whole 'nother level.
Can you add a voice over with a heavy ozzie accent? "Crikey, I'm alright, mates" and lots a Bonza's and rippa's! Video would be over-hyper cool I think the online leaderboard for GG should have a line at the top: not "Shchplurg was here" but "Schplurg went there"!
