    Whoa!! that looks fantastic.

You should really try to spruce up the OP tho.. I have the feeling more people would click through that way.

The video looks great...but the "on rails" comment does bring up a valid point which I didn't think about. How much gameplay is there?

I don't know, the same way moon patrol was fun? Of course it needs some depth but overall the game looks like an absolute blast to play.

    Kudos to the devs!

oh well, good comparison..........unfortunately i do not like moon patrol even if i have already played it on the original atari 2600.

was alright back then, but today.......i guess this game is just not for me.

There's no crime in that. :D

Of course the proof is in the pudding, and I hope the game at least has some depth to it cause otherwise it's not going to last more than 10 minutes. From the outside tho it looks like a cool premise and so far that seems reason enough to be excited.

The video shows a continuous loop of what looks to be just a demonstration of the gameplay and scale. Will the real game be this fast-paced? And do you do what's in the video (run over enemies, avoid fire), as it seems easy. I read that there are randomly generate courses, how many premade levels are there, if any?

textures look great but graphics look a bit blocky (like the scared soldiers' faces). looks great in general though. how much variety/customization will there be (setting, type of tank thingy (really strong vs. really fast))?

Thanks for that. I think many of us were thinking the same thing.

  17. Thanks to everybody for your comments and for checking out the website.

As the game is coming out Wednesday, there will be additional information and reviews available soon.

Due to our release date being so close to that of Monster Truck Nitro, I can definitely see how the games will be compared. While they do share similar elements, I can assure you that GI Joyride is a very different game, so hopefully people will be willing to give both a chance.

As for cost, we are releasing the game at a reasonable $2.99 and know it has the replay value to deserve this price point. Many of our playtesters assured us they would easily pay that much and we believe it to be a fun and highly replayable game. It's fun to pick up when you have a few minutes to kill, and is very much like Firemint's Flight Control game in regard to besting your personal records/endless mode play.

p.s. Here are a few bonus screens. It's fun to smash through enemies, catch big air, see night fall and your APC's headlights come on!

We continue to look forward to your comments, as we aspire to be actively involved in this community. Thanks again!

I don't really understand the comparison between this and Monster Truck Joyride.

Other than a 2D driving game using 3D graphics...what's the similarity?

MTJ has the player spinning the device. Doesn't look like this game will. And we can run over NPCs in this game.
