Hi Raptor (and everybody else). The earliest (and likely) time to start will be first thing tomorrow morning (Mar 3rd). We're taking care of last minute legal details but all of that is on track and will be ready tonight. The one thing that I'm biting my nails over right now is that the lite version of the game is still being held by Apple. It's been like three weeks and we've been talking to them but in the end we can't make them approve it. If (God forbid) the lite version is still held up by Apple then we may need to bump everything forward a day or two until the app is released. I know, I know that would completely suck..BUT...in fairness it probably doesn't change much since the scheduled release date for the iPad isn't until April anyway. So it's not as though anybody would get the prize late. If we do have to delay, we'll update everybody here but the best idea is to think happy thoughts toward the poor reviewer stuck with reviewing our weird game so they look upon us with favor.

I know you don't want to start the contest yet, but since it was supposed to start already can my lvl 35(oscilliation) score be part? Btw Im pretty sure it's impossible to get 4m on lvl 35 since the max distance you can get is 999,999 too bad because I'm sure I coulda had a bunch ๎ Oh and who are the devs on the leaderboard? So I know who I'm not up against
Quick update on the contest: We're dragging tail a little here as we try to work out a few last minute legal things with Apple. It seems me may have overstepped our place by tagging all our stuff with their trademarked product stuff. We're not allowed to say iP@d without their permission it seems. But stand by, I think we'll get this all worked out soon enough. We DO need the free version of the game to be live before we start the contest so that's the hangup. That said, if we have to bump the dates back just a bit it's not as though it really changes anything. The prize isn't even released yet and wont be out til after we finish regardless. So sorry for the delay - we're still hoping to launch today...
Ok, I saw on the leaderboards a contest section...will that show the current high scores towards the contest when it starts? Sure hope so, so I know when/if I'm first Btw, thanks for keeping us updated๎๎
Raptor, I'm seeing how this contest is going to go. We have been switching in and out of that 3rd spot all day lol.
*sigh* I'm ready for the contest....the score I have now is nowhere near my best, but I don't want to get bored so I'm done playing til the contest starts....does the free ver. Really HAVE to be released before you start? Impatient I know but Im looking forward to a great competition

First shot to share was submitted to us by Motomaniac and shows a great example of gravity art...I'm seriously thinking that would be a god contest to have as well... BTW - this level is HARD. I didn't even realize a stable orbit was really practical here. Nice work Motomaniac
Nice, that lvl I would say is the hardest..well, how do you unlock lvl 50? Btw, in the app description it says something abt multiplayer...how would that work???
Also wanted to share this with you folks. Another project that we're working on is a graphic novel tentatively called "...And Also After" This is a preliminary sketch by Alan Close and something like it will be part of the teaser we release here before the end of March. But this is a game forum, not a comic one so I won't cover that too much here. Still, if you like the game, this GN is set in the same game world. Tell us what you think.
Level 50 is unlicked when you get a certain number of gold medals, and basically corresponds to when you get promoted to SO1 which is something you can check on your user profile on the website. Multiplayer will be set up similar to the way you see it done in Flight Control but we'll have special levels where at least two (maybe more if we can make it work) will basically race one another to ping a shared field of targets in a manner similar to Territories in Halo 3
Approved! Hey, we just got this in the mail: Looks like we're good to go! w00t! OK, we need to post some things like the rules and all that, we need to make sure the game appears in the app store, and we need to get our DB ready to start collecting contest scores. As a way to ensure everybody gets the news I expect we'll start the contest in the next 12-24 hours. BUt it's all just details stuff now. Thanks everybody for your patience to this point, I know this has been a little weird but we're really excited to see this thing pop!
