I looked for a thread that was vaguely on this topic but didn't see one. Anyway... This thought was prompted by the recent articles where game devs commented on game development for the new iPads. I gather the iPad 4 will be almost exactly twice as powerful as the iPad 3 for gaming. To me, this presents an obvious opportunity: develop your iPad games to run at a locked 30fps on iPad3 (the industry standard for console games) and a locked 60fps on iPad4. No need for different assets, textures, or different anything at all. Is this not a great idea? Devs, feels free to send me a portion of your future profits.
Well at least in terms of raw power it is and benchmarks are there to prove it: http://www.macrumors.com/2012/10/30/4th-generation-ipad-benchmarks-show-1-4ghz-dual-core-processor-1gb-of-ram/
There is some new info about A6X too regarding GPU http://www.chipworks.com/blog/recentteardowns/2012/11/01/inside-the-apple-ipad-4-a6x-to-be-revealed/
