How many times have those of you who say you haven't used power-ups had to restart levels? Because that's what gets to me with these games -- no way to buy unlimited lives so I can keep trying. And it feels designed to get you to buy that (or power-ups). Take a game like Swapperoo -- it often felt like the game was stacked against me, but I still worked at it because there were unlimited lives and I knew the devs made a design choice that they thought made the game better (whether it did or didn't is another discussion) --- not simply to get people to spend more money. Ehh I guess this is just making all my complaints of F2P come out. I really do like this game, but not enough to keep throwing money at it so I can play now instead of later. Will end up forgetting about it completely because that's what happens to me with games that send me away. Edit: There's also been a few times where Bender's head just randomly interrupted a game. So my only option was to close it down and lose a life. #
He used an '' not a '$' sign. That's Euro, not Dollar. So he didn't ever see the $0.99 purchase ... Probably in the European country he's living in some folks already bought the EUR 0.99 bucks iAP that it showed up in his App Store. Not the US store.
This is the same thing that I think Eli wrote an article way back about with King games in mind. I think your criticism is totally valid, and I'll 100% admit there are times I'd like to keep on playing when I hit a particularly tricky level. But I guess I've already accepted this kind of system in games, and I'm good with taking a break and playing something else. I'm at level 105 now, and I still like it. If the system is that rough on you, I'm not advocating for you to get over it. Play what makes you happy. It is what it is, and this is not the kind of game that is going to switch from F2P to Paid. I have cellular data for this game turned off, so everywhere but at home I play until I run out of lives, then I move on. At home, I'll watch an optional ad and spin Robot Devil's wheel. One time I spun it three times in 30ish minutes and got infinite hearts three times in a row: first 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 15 minutes. That was neat! I still think the writing is great, and I'm going to play this as long as it stays supported. I read a review somewhere that said the fan service of this game was minimal, and I think that's dead wrong. In fact, some of the stories from the last seasons are straight up continued, so this game very much feels like an episode or arc of the show. And I've also had that Bender's head crash happen once. Maybe that's what the update today fixed? The update description was super vague. And by that, I mean it didn't tell me anything at all, which is the WORST kind of description. I wish we had a dev from the game in here to chat with and answer questions like that.
You're probably talking about the wheel of robots. That is on the bottom right side of the start screen of the game. I'd tapped on it a few time before but the robodevil always told me to come back later. Until about Level 65 - 67. I'm at Lv. 68 now and after having read your comment I went back to the main menu and there suddenly was a red '!' badge next to the wheel icon and I was able to spin it (after an ad clip). Prizes aren't too special though. You can either win unlimited lives for 5, 10 or 15 minutes (meaning you won't lose any lives during that time frame), 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 dollar notes or (obviously) the main prize = three 7's. Maybe hitting that could win one a power up. After spinning a timer went of and I was able to spin again after 10 minutes. After that the timer reset again. No idea if I could spin every 10 minutes now (or just as long as the game has ad clips for you to watch). Hope this helped. Edit: After having observed this a bit more I don't think you need to be at a minimum level at all. Just wait 5 - 10 seconds in the main menu and the red '!' next to the wheel icon should appear - Meaning you can spin away (doesn't come right away, the game probably checks the connection or if there are ad clips available). Edit 2: Thanks Jerutix for the further clarification! I'd never buy iAPs. Would happily spring some bucks for a premium experience but the f2p prices (up to 100 bucks for a few coins/gems/notes (etc) tradable for some measly power ups is just sick) ... Have never hit 777 yet though and could really use a Fishy Joe for this annoyingly hard level right now
Yeah, you can spin every 10 minutes. I've gotten the 777 4 times now. It was 20 bucks 2 times, 50 bucks 1 time, and a Fishy Joe power up 1 time.
Funny that they make a joke about Candy Crush & this game is another candy crush...literally. It has a different skin & that's it.
Yes. I have started using power-ups here and there, but not until I was in the Hermes missions. I'm at 158ish now.
Use your line pieces diagonally. Use Calculon's power on the left side (at first, at least - depends on what happens after the first time). And may luck be with you! I've played some of these levels around that many times. It's just part of the Candy Crush style experience. One of the self aware twitcher hoots was Fry saying "Not sure if enjoying game or imagining enjoying game #SlurmSlushSodaEpic" - It's a fair question.
Lol. The Futurama skin/humor is definitely a big part of what's been keeping me coming back for more. I kind of hate them for that.
That one took me at least a couple dozen tries. Currently on level 144. The pizza delivery levels are the worst, imo
I was mostly playing this game while multitasking bc I don't really have any other match-3's I'm into at the moment. I think level 102 might have been what I needed to make me finally quit, though.
Wow! I just lucked out big time on level 70. I ended up getting a combo piece (I think it was a rainbow combined with a line) and I took out all of the aliens in one shot. I think that was the only way I was going to beat that level.
Just passed 102 after 20+ attempts. And had 10 moves left. Its frustrating how much luck is a factor in beating some (maybe all) levels. I keep coming back though.
I'm at level 191 right now, which is the last level that's unlocked (on my game at least - not sure if the timer is counting down based on the time I've played, time until an update, or some arbitrary time until new levels are playable). I spin the wheel frequently, use Nixon bucks every now and then, and still enjoy the game.
This game just screwed me. I was on level 100 earlier today. I just loaded up the game again now and I'm back on level 99 for some reason.
