I beta tested this game, and I wanted this game to lose the IAP so much, I feel like this game should be paid instead of riddled with IAP, goes to show you that the devs nowadays only want some extra $$$ instead of a decent paid game. I'll pass and just save storage on my phone for games that aren't IAP riddled.
I really like this game, but it can be VERY FRUSTRATING. Too hard with it's one hit and that's it mechanics. Do wish there was a bit more forgiving hit box. Maybe a 3 hit limit then you lose all flying power after a gradual power loss or something. Also would prefer a Laser or Bomb button as double tapping the screen when you're moving fast in between lots of obstacles is very stressing. Great art and sounds! IAP is a bit annoying as well, but I do hope they make some $ as they deserve some return on their efforts!
Devs want to make a living instead of going broke. Premium games don't guarantee a living, with f2p and IAP it's more likely to survive. Dont blame the games or the Devs, blame players that ask if game X is worth a ####ing dollar
F2p by itself don't garantee a living, most of free games are in the same shoes as premium. Check the top grossing list - it wasn't changing for years. Also you can learn that Infinity Blade series gained more than any of its f2p clones.
I feel it's the opposite, I rather pay/download a good game Not a game with IAP's in it, I have over 15 games on my phone all paid games (6 of those isn't even as good as this game) I stay clear of mostly everything that has IAP's or Ada in them due to the simple fact that I've seen so many companies make it without the need of IAP's. I disagree that ads/IAPS will benefit devs more than a good ole paid game, I could be wrong though, I just hate IAP games.
Vivid Nebula...finally something new, like background colors and tricky jelly foes. Allmost too late, cos i was ready to give up...at least for today. But those things kept me going, and now i survived the difficult long distance travel to the Telescope. Wondering what lays in here...curiosity for what's next and a twitchy avoiding game with good controls keep me on my seat. Of course i'm playing with headphones, which is a must have imho, so i'm missing some more sfx sounds in the battles, feels empty now. Also, to play along a bit faster, possible to get rid of that (for me) useless step with the achievements screen after crashing. Why not going directly into the story/decision screen after i decided not to continue the game? Shortens the repetition a bit since i fully agree with Carter's spot on review. Maybe i'm missing something, but i simply swipe up (overdrive) or down (laser/bomb) while i steer my ship. No double tap needed. As an additional option for different tastes, it's never wrong to deliver a button option.
Can't speak for the other poster but I am constantly - and I mean constantly, like tap tap tap tap tap - adjusting my course with both thumbs and taking even half a second to swipe up or down has got me 'killed' more times than I can count. (Especially when it doesn't seem to work 100%.) I don't care how the devs intended it, to be blunt; with the sheer number of obstacles coming at you and the speed it gets to inside a couple of minutes any other way of playing it just feels wrong. Doing lazy, perfect drifts through everything feels absolutely impossible other than for godlike GIT GUD types. I do like the game, and devs, I really appreciate you tweaking the F2P model, but I haven't purchased the unlock yet in large part because it just feels so viciously tough to the point of being borderline unfair. Add to that the fact the levels are enormous/very repetitive, the gamebook part doesn't seem to have that much variety either, and the localisation isn't the best and I'm reluctant to drop the money on it. (I hate bringing up that last one, given I can't communicate in anything other than English, but it does kinda stick out, IMO.) At the same time, I've gone through almost a full charge on my iPad twice already, and it's rare a game gets me to do that. Terrific music, too. I wish there was more of it, and/or a soundtrack album to buy.
Once i lost about 170 crystals and i thought the game's got a bug. Being not sure about this, i played on to see if it would happen again. Nope, seemed like a one time accident, nevermind. But now i realized, that due to a bad decision (when starting a new game), i lost my very hard earned crystals again. Mr. Jones gave me 40 crystals as a payment, and this overwrote my former 150...WTF?! People talk iap shenanigans in this game, and damn, with this bad move i really have to chime in! And for everybodies info, whatever you buy, the upgrade timer will never leave. I think it's not right once some buyers spent $ 8 for a premium experience. Just saying, after i got a code for unlimited lives (thanks again) and being quite addicted for a few hours, i supported you with my "no caps" buy.
Only my experience of course, but to activate the laser/overdrive never failed on me. Not once! Being a few hours in and knowing most asteroids' patterns (only to a certain ship speed), my tap tap tap got replaced with a more relaxing tap and hold or tap and let the ship center itself again. And no, i'm not an Andy83, lol.
Wow, it looks like i always start with 40 crystals from Mr. Jones? How tired i must have been... I made a "super quick" game. I skipped where possible, made fast decisions but still tried to do my best. I died after 62 minutes. Heaven's Gate was my destiny. And since i lost my crystals again, i can't buy the next upgrade for the crew capacity... A few GOOD tweaks here and there, some new stuff for replay ability, and i might add this pearl to my GOTY contenders. I'm really hooked!
Wazzaaa This seems to be the only thread anywhere about this game, has anyone found out what the code is for the q-cos vault ??? Im getting all ocd not knowing and trying all combinations on low idium crystal will take me 12 seperate playthroughs which seems like a bit of a stretch. Any helpers?? I tried some already but forgot which ones haha. Its about trying either a 1,4 or 7 for the first digit, a 3, 6 or 8 for the second one and a 2, 8 , 9 or a 0 for the last mounting up to 36 possibilities. Its not 1,3,2
Hey It shouldn't be that way. It looks like some nasty bug. Could you return to us at [email protected] with more info when exactly it happen? Thanks! ATGames
Happy to hear your thoughts and feedback. And we have to take a look at this bug for sure. Also write to us, we can help you with lost crystals. Best Bartek / ATGames
Update: some glitch allowed me to keep trying and ive now eliminated number 7 as the starting number, aswell as all 1,3,x and 1,6,x combo's. Leaving like 16 still
Thanks mate! Reckon thats gonna be a planet further up? Being on here's for me somewhat hyped
Spoiler yes, Tortuga is on more to the north, so you will be enter the code with the second playtrough
