we definately need some ranking system and a stats screen to show how many times you've won or lost. Also we should have some blade and backround unlockables for winning x amount of games. Finallly, we need to increase the amount of time of each game in the mp games to at least 1:30. Some people might not like that so how about like different rooms? One room for playing one minute, another for 1:30 and another for two minutes
They only copied the style of the game :/ It's not like they copied the name or used the images from Fruit Ninja in their game. Should all developers who make running games sue each other? No. Should all developers who make baseball games sue each other? No.
oh btw also, i really hate how if your winning by like 10 or 15, the ai just gives the other person like 15 straight fruits without any to you....it's impossible to maintain a lead, it just seems like your trying to get in the last fruit at the end at times. I've had some people purposely start out bad in the beginning so they can win in the end. Don't you think we should be rewarded for being more skilled? again this ties in with the different rooms or lobbies idea in my post above
Thanks for adding multiplayer. Are leaderboards and achievements coming next? I would rather look up their scores on Game Center than Open Feint.
It's not that. It's the fact that the games are so easily relatable. I mean Veggie Samurai looks identical to Fruit Ninja, basically QS is trying to get money off of Fruit Ninja's success. Developers have done it before, some have succeeded while others have failed. It's all about the money. Nobody cares about originality anymore.
Took the plunge, and MAN, that multiplayer is freakin SWEET! Veggie who? Even aside from the copycat, this game just has more personality and flair. I finally see what all the fuss is about! GREAT game, guys!
If you open up the leaderboards in Openfeint you can see how many victories you have had. It's pretty basic, but hey, its better than nothing! Obviously this is on our list to improve with future updates
Thanks for the kind words! We are glad that Ninja's around the world are enjoying the update. Its gonna be hard to top this update, but we have more up our sleeve for the near future as well
Oooh a ranking system sounds awesome. Like a skill based rankings system, wins for more points, losses lose points. Also should take into account how good your opponent is, so you don't lose too much if they are pro and gain too much if they are new.
I have no idea why anyone thinks I'm good at gaming. May be you guys confuse me for zincous I'm a below average gamer actually. I dont even play to get top scores or achievements ever (monster dash being the only exception hehe). No need to worry about me. Oh btw, the forum superstar zincous just lost 3-1 against me (but he's pissed now and is asking for a rematch once he's had dinner. God save me ) Edit: I think I cancelled another invitee without seeing who it was coz I was playing in another game with boardumb(he gave up after a 2-0 score btw) when it popped up. Sorry whoever it was
A full blown ELO system would be totally rad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system Trackmania Nations has a particularly classy semi-ELO system implemented which has always been my favourite. So many great idea's for updates, so little time!
I don't think you need to do a full blown, perfect system. Just a light one, manipulating your matchmaking a little bit. Doesn't need to be exact. So newcomers (like a person who posted a few pages ago) will have a better chance of being paired up with other newcomers.
That's actually one of my favourite things about the TMN system. All new players start at zero points. New players are guaranteed to be paired with other new players. Advanced players win and win fast, so they quickly accrue points and slowly approach their equilibrium point. Points are never deducted. This means that the total amount of points within the system slowly approach infinity, however as the number of players in the system increase, it slows. The top players have to play a lot to gain any points. New players actually accrue more points for their first victories than players who entered the system earlier, reflecting the total scale of the system. Anyway, thats enough design blather from me... I love talking design
The quick match system is awesome. Thanks for the MP update. Now if you can also include GC Achievements that would be perfect!!!
It was me here. Yes. You are absolutely right. The only chance I have is to communicate via email with personal friends where I know they bought the game right now like me. And invite them personally (or they invite me). So I got a chance and could win my first two multiplayer games. (Another game not this one a week ago.) I am sure the "total played time" of each customer is available for devs. It should be accounted for pairing if there are enough players waiting for multiplayer games. Or another system mentioned by you. But so there is too much luck needed in an old game (okay it exists since April '10) like this. You need luck to find an equal player but most of them seem to be profs with this bestseller for ages. And you need additionally luck for the random (?) fruits showing up clearly and solely and not behind those of your combatant. I easily feel disadvantaged when the reds line up nicely for a combo and the blues are always hidden behind others. I guess the only constant is the number of fruits for each player and not the way how they show up.
Is the amount of fruit between each player even per match? Also, can only 1 player get points for the white fruit? It seems like I can hit all of my fruit, and almost all the white fruit and still be pretty even in the end or still lose.
