It is random. If you read something in the game it says something like "Slice away and hope for random criticals."
Its also random and very rare. I've only seen it once and only once. So when you see it make sure you slice it because you might not see it again for a while.
I think critical hits shouldn't be random. Should be more of a skill thing, like being able to slice fruits almost exactly in half.
In regards to the new icon, is it a requirement to have the open feint logo on app icons if they use OF? If not, I think it would look so much better without it!
i don't think it's required, but maybe app icons put it there so that everyone knows there's openfeint and might be attracted to buy it.
Hey all, we will be having semi-retina display support in the update which has already been submitted to Apple. We haven't announced it as such, because there are some assets which are original resolution, but several things should look much nicer. I wanted to let you guys know that this was the case for Fruit Ninja. It's another simple reality of being an App store developer. To have Retina display support, most people don't realise that means having an entirely separate set of HD assets which are used on iPhone 4. Which basically doubles the file size of the app. And since we can't go over 20MB in size, we have had to stick with original assets in a few instances. However, for the time being we have updated what we can and I really hope you guys love it!
That's true, but they shouldn't be looking at the icon, they should be looking at the game description, quite often game icons have being ruined by the ugly OF symbol.
It's so people can download the game or the updates over 3G. Devs try to keep small games under 20mb so that they don't restrict themselves to only people downloading over Wifi.
Because there's a 20Mb size limit for downloading over 3G. So if they make it bigger than that, basically it's a loss of sales [which I'm sure they don't want ]
I'd say, with such a large fanbase, they shouldn't bother too much about the 20MB limit. Most people have access to a WiFi network. 3G network download support is fine unless it doesn't interfere with the quality of the product.
Screw that. People would rather have higher resolution. Well, if the sales every drop, think about making the file size bigger..
