I personally want some more backkrounds too...which is why I came up with an awesome idea that has nothing to do with the core game but would be an interesting side mode...
Introducing Fruit Ninja Paint mode! Where you can swipe with different colored blades to make different pictures and then draw different shapes with the blades! Furthermore you can insert different fruits and pictures onto the design! And then finally you can make your creation the default fruit ninja backround! Or submit iit to the online servers to share your creation with everyone!

 

That is a freakin' awesome idea dude.

In addition to your idea, perhaps even allow you to "paint" by slicing the fruit (of the color you want to use) to make your own creation. So when you slice the fruit, it will either create a paint line or "splatter" marks (perhaps enable as an option to shift between paint lines or splatter marks).

 

Maybe you can and different weapons. Like a lightsaber, chainsaw, or baseball bat.

 

I would go all chainsaw on those melons!

 

Or perhaps a motorboat...

Shuriken, throwing stars, would be awesome. You could flick them at the fruit! That would be fun!

 

add multiple slashes. like in veggie samurai.. that would make fruit ninja tops.
