Nice, congrats the numbers!! Was this 1 million sold through the app store? Or, 1 million registered on OpenFeint? Right about the time you made the announcement, I noticed that there was just a few thousand over 1 million on the OF leader boards that day. I know that there are people who play but don't have an OF account. That is why I ask. Also, I know there is alot of pirating that goes on with apps, so I am just curious. Have you found that there has been heavy pirating with the game being so successfull? From what I read regarding apps and pirating, it seems odd that the 1 million sold matched the 1 million on OF.
Its a possiblity, oh and this is my 1000th POST!!!!! I feel honored to have had this event occur in the Fruit Ninja thread. Thanks T.A. for a great website!
I am really liking this game. The controls are smooth and the graphics are sweet and the game is loaded with lots of juicy fruit slicing action. I already got 1000 fruits sliced and diced. Even the menu can't escape the cold steel of my finger, as the menu needs to be sliced as well. The different swords and backgrounds are a nice idea! They add a little something different that spices up the game. But a color changing sword that changed colors as it sliced would be a nice addition.
Awesome morning to you all. A few things to report: Touch Arcade posted about Fruit Ninja selling one million copies, and I also offered a sneak preview at the content in 1.3.1. Fruit Ninja HD has been submitted and we are really looking forward to its release! http://toucharcade.com/2010/07/06/fruit-ninja-hits-1-million-copies-sold-milestone-ipad-version-and-patriotic-update-pending-apple-approval/ Vote for Fruit Ninja at the iPhone World Championships! We're in the semi finals, up against Chaos Rings. We really need the support of the Fruit Ninja fans to take this bad boy down, so if you wanted to head over to the official voting page and give us a nod that would be awesome! http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/iphonewc.asp
That would be the disco blade... kinda. The color doesn't actually change as the fruits are being sliced though. EDIT: Chaos Rings? Fruit Ninja beats that any day.
Right, the disco blade is ok, but a blade that changes colors WHILE it is slicing fruit would be even better!
Yeah, that was in the first round. Basically the competition is set up with each country having three games as their players. So in essence, we aren't necessarily competing by individual game but just by country. So Team Australia is Halfbrick with Fruit Ninja, and Firemint with Flight Control and Real Racing. Thankfully we got through the qualifiers despite Fruit Ninja having an epic loss (I'm like, WTF happened there?) and now there's just four countries left. If we beat Japan, we go to the final match. Firemint and Halfbrick are working together to promote their games, and as I'm sure there are plenty of Flight Control and Real Racing fans out there, a vote for Australia and Fruit Ninja means a vote for quality games all around! http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/iphonewc.asp
That's the spirit! If we make it into the finals I'll give away FIVE codes for Fruit Ninja to spread the love for our final battle. Get voting and tell your friends, we have to get there for the good of both our nations! Imagine an Australia vs. USA final. T'would be epic! Thanks for your support guys, cast your votes here: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/iphonewc.asp
This is a crazy addictive and fantastic casual game. Great job on it I had a couple questions, though: 1. Have you talked about what the mysterious "banana" mode will be? 2. I don't want to sound like an Ungrateful Ulysses, but is there a plan in the future to add more backgrounds and swords to unlock? Five of each is good, but it seems I'm blazing right through with unlocking them Again, great job on the game, and congratulations on 1,000,000 sales. That's amazing
1. Yes. 2. Hell yes! Lot's more content to unlock is coming, and the banana mode is well underway to completion. We want to make sure it's the best it can be! And thanks to everyone who voted so far, keep it up and we might just win! http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/iphonewc.asp
Haha I love how at the bottom of the veggie samurai description it says something like: we are in no part associated with halfbrick or fruit ninja.
