I like the new update, been playing arcade mode every day. I've only gotten up to 716 points once and cannot beat my score! I got two frenzy banana's and two freeze banana's with 2x score. Never again have I gotten that...
So much luck Arcade mode is fun but it frustrates me that success is so dependent on luck. My best score (659 or so) was the result of a frenzy, freeze and double score all at once. I've had flawless games where I've hit every combo but got only one freeze and ended up with like 400 points. This is one of those games that although you may get progressively better, it is not reflected in your score. I can't beat my score that I got on day 1! I would suggest they make the power-ups appear as the result of combos, instead of just what appears to be arbitrary placement. Despite my gripes, the core game play is addictive as hell. To answer the initial Q, this mode is a winner
yeah thats pretty good afaic. Puts you in the top 5% or so I think... I sometimes feel like the powerups do respond a bit to combos - like perhaps getting a nice string of combos during a frenzy increases the odds of another frenzy appearing. I think the random factor would be more of a problem if the rounds were longer. When you can play a dozen rounds or so in 15 minutes I don't think its too much of an issue. Skill does come into play too - you have to be able to take good advantage of those lucky rounds when they occur. I've had many rounds where things have been going good and then I've somehow missed a banana - thats frustrating...
I was playing against triggywiggy. Lost the first 10 or so but then won from there on. This game system is wierd. I think it needs tweaking. Do you?
Hehe today I scored 816 points. Before bonuses I had 666 pts(lol) and I got 150 in bonus pts by having a 9 fruit combo, combo God! And triple digits. If anyone wants to compete add me on GC: Froggyboby
My best is somewhere in the five hundred range. It would be really cool if there's an unlimited, classic arcade-like mode.
I can't seem to get past 944 in arcade but I'm really happy with the score. The only way I got that high was getting all three bananas at the same time.
