1) Plot or storyline of our next game: STUFF KICKING ASS!!! 2) Game play (what can that ship possibly be used for?): FOR KICKING ASS!!!
I think there was an episode of Viking vs. Samurai and...the samurai won. This can be the game's commercial tag line, monster-truck rally style with the guy yelling "Sunday Sunday Sunday!" Too bad we don't have a budget for commercials.
"Sunday Sunday Sunday! Big Daddy Don Garlits CRUSHES pickups with his BAAARE HAANDS!!! BE THERE." Yeah, should focus test pretty well in the midwest. I like it.
We wanted to do a little YouTube clip for Earth Vs Moon in that style. It would have worked well because we had two clear groups, the good Earthlings and the really badass Moon Army. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY see the Moon Army crush puny Earth people with giant lasers and brains in jars. But we couldn't find a decent voice actor who was willing to work for pennies. Reminds me of the Bart the Daredevil episode when the Simpsons go to a monster truck rally and then Bart tries to jump Springfield gorge. Love that episode.
Thanks for playing everybody! The contest is now closed. I posted this information on the first page, but to repeat, I'll post the winners on this thread shortly and then send each winner information regarding his/her prize via PM.
Okay, the results are in and the winner is... Inundated! We chose Inundated's post because it was fairly accurate while still being quite funny and amusing (the great Spam wars of '92 and the battle over shaving cream). Inundated gets a $20 iTunes gift and a promo code for The Horrible Vikings. We have to give out second place prizes because one was spot on in terms of gameplay and one was simply too hilarious to be ignored. MidianGTX - too brilliant, too funny. I love the part where the ship ate off the Viking's foot. Dylan1696 - very accurate in terms of describing the gameplay! You guys will both receive promo codes for The Horrible Vikings. Apple approved The Horrible Vikings within 24 hours of submission (!!!), but we're releasing the game on Tuesday to allow us some time to get ready for the game's release. So Inundated, MidianGTX and Dylan1696 will be able to receive advance copies of the game to play with. Also, honorable mentions go to Nyao-Chan and Khamous. You both wrote very good pieces. So what is The Horrible Vikings? You play as a member of a Viking ship that intends to pillage and plunder the riches of the islands of the far east. The only thing standing between you and all those riches is . . . a horde of ninjas, commanded by Samurai, protecting a very rich Princess with some sumo wrestlers to boot. You launch your Viking out of the catapult to smash treasure chests, destroy ninjas, bounce off birds, bump into sumo wrestlers and bomb buildings. You earn more money to buy a better ship to earn more money. It's a vicious cycle of pillaging and plundering with a good measure of kidnapping and ransoming mixed in, Viking-style. Thanks for playing everyone! I have enough Earth Vs Moon promo codes to pass out so I'll PM each participant with that information.
hmm are there consolation prizes for the rest of the contestants? there are 15 promo codes previously mentioned?
Yup, there are indeed 15 promo codes for our other game, Earth Vs Moon. I am currently sending them out via PM to everyone and I just sent you one. EDIT: If I don't send you a promo code for Earth Vs Moon via PM for participating, please send me a PM. I might have missed someone.
This game is awesome! The graphics are sharp and the dialogue is hilarious. I played 4 hrs straight last night. Very addictive. Thank you.
must get itunes card before tuesday... =P any word on price atm? guess ill have to fight the mecha rats till tuesday then play some moon ball games while once again battling the dastardly emperor noom... should fill a couple of days? =D
I'm really glad you're enjoying it! It's a little nerve wracking debuting a new game. You never know what people will think and we really hope that people will have fun with it. I wonder if you'll be the game's harshest critic? It's quite a bit different from Earth Vs Moon, but we'll be revisiting that world once again in the future (if we make enough money to keep doing this!). The Horrible Vikings is more like a situational comedy while Earth Vs Moon is epic and cinematic in scope.
