My guess is the Map Screen handles like Trade Winds, and the Battles work like a sort of caste defense. The story might be Asian People/Ninjas (there were a few samurai) stole something of great importance from the Vikings and now they are trying to take it back by brute force.

    i'm guessing it's a physics/platformer type of game - iblast moki+vikings+ninjas :D

-gameplay involves using various items to launch ninjas, kill ninjas and stuff bombs into the hands of ninjas

-you play as a group of bloodthirsty norweigian vikings pillaging various ninja-populated islands, in search of shaving cream to end the shaving cream drought in their homeland of norweiga

-after the 1st day of their expedition, they find all the land's shaving cream in one of their shoes. the ninja girl congratulates the vikings with a 1st place prize of spam (a ninjian delicacy) and a contract for Big Beards Weekly magazine. after one bite of spam, the vikings declared "all your spam are belong to us". and so the 18th Great Spam War of 92" began. the vikings, led by Scarlett Johansen...and the ninjas, led by Kung Fu Panda fought for the fate of all the free peoples of spam and middle earth (but mostly for spam).

-gain money by opening treasure chests/barrels...use this to purchase items from the item shop (use these items to kill ninjas)

-items you can use include mushrooms, potions and spam* (used for health, extra launching power etc.)

-launch vikings (through means of viking ship/ bomb-spitting snake) according to the arrows pointing off-screen (aim at ninjas, spam, ninjas, coins, ninjas and ninjas)

-ninjas will attempt to shoot arrows at launched vikings

-each island (tropical, desert, harsher desert, snowy, village) may have different forms of gameplay/ different objectives e.g. successfully killing all ninjas

    -ninjas

*can be used to effectively kill ninjas :D

You're still here! I thought you might have stopped frequenting the TA forums. I hope you enjoy the next game. You were always one of our most supportive fans and we're grateful. I actually thought of you when we made this and wondered what you would think.

300th post! 300 is a nice, round looking number.

These are really amazing posts! I'm like your preschool teacher or your mother - I love each post and want all of you to win. Don't worry, I'm not playing favorites with MidianGTX. ;) As I mentioned before, the winning answer will be the most accurate description of plot and gameplay AND the funniest/wittiest/most entertaining.

Please keep these coming! I love the creative ideas from TA users.

I'd do it for free. I've contributed a few graphics here and there but to actually get the chance to write something for a game would be awesome, I couldn't charge for that since I consider it pleasure more than work ;)

Thanks :D I'd love to be able to say it was inspired by classic British sitcom humour, but truth is I've just been watching Aqua Teens and to be honest that stuff is a lot easier to write in a hurry.

    1) Plot or storyline of our next game (if you played Earth Vs Moon, you know how much we love our plotlines);

In the century where viking warlords rule, villagers has trained themselves into ninjas to protect themselves
as well as their homeland. But as the sea front are protected by ninjas, the warlords cannot come into the land and take over the ninjas' homeland. Their only solution is the catapult they have on their ships that can sent
them flying over the village which then can brought them to face-to-face attacks with the farmer ninjas.

Once the vikings are targeted to kill each ninja by air attacks, the last ninja alive or the last viking alive will mean either the victory of the waring nation. The ninjas also have their secret skills of penetrating into the premises of the viking warlords' ships. But who will succeed first - the vikings or the ninjas? It is up to you to decide in this epic game of the century!

This game is pretty much like worms but it lets you choose a variety of actions on how to land your viking or ninja into the enemy's territories.

Suitable for all ages as it is guarantee to bring a smile on your face after you tried the game.

    2) Game play (what can that ship possibly be used for?)

The ship is used to transport vikings warlords from places of conquest to the villagers home. Once they conquer all the homelands of the ninja farmers, then they can be proudly declared as the victorious Viking warlords of the region.

    1) Storyline/Plot
The vikings having long been striking fear into the hearts of millions. Ransacking and pillaging with their hit and run tactics, overruning bountiful cities of riches and glory. Their next plan was to hit the richest city in the world. But what happens when the Asian invasion disrupts the harmony and safety of their homeland, Scandinavia? Oh no, our sacred homeland, the haven to where we store our spoils of war, drink wine and eat meat, and be merry. How can this be? We cannot sit back and allow this to happen. We must take back our homeland! By the name of Ingvar and Rurik, onward my brothers in arms!
And thus the journey began. One to take back what is rightfully theirs. Armed with their ships and cannons shaped in likelihood of the Great Serpent, the vikings set on a journey to restore their former glory and rescue their homeland defiled by savages.
When they arrive, they learn that the Asian horde of ninjas and samurai have taken over. They have built houses and buildings, killed their livestock, and infested their homeland. But the most unforgivable act, they have captured their king and queen! BLASPHEMOUS! The vikings have a new goal. They must reclaim their home and rescue the royal family. Collecting items and treasures along the way, the vikings tear through the army of ninjas and samurai. But they number many, will the vikings make it? Only you have the power to save the vikings now.

    2) Gameplay
Use the ship to navigate across the map and select your next mission. As you travel more across the map, the fog of war disappears and you can see where you have once traveled. After selecting a level, you enter into the stage. There is a pause button on the top right corner for... you know, pausing.
You are armed with a Great Serpent Cannon, which can shoot bombs to kill ninjas or even fellow vikings to retrieve items. On the top left you have the life points represented by hearts. Be careful not to lose all of them or you're dead. On the bottom left you have your money. Collect more gold so you get more money.
The arrows on the right side tell you what is coming up. Like traffic signs, they are a warning. "Ninjas coming beware! Or coins are coming up, get your cannon ready to fire some vikings." The screen will perpetually be moving towards the right, and you are always on the ship. The ship doesn't appear on the screen because you are on it and firing onto the land from the ocean. Little arrows indicate what are hidden inside treasure chests or jars that appear onto the screen. Launch vikings from your ship in order to "break" or retrieve these items.
Then on the left side, you have your items. Use these in an emergency or for tactical strategy. These items include power-ups, healing items, and other items, like slowing down the movement of the ship so you have longer to gather items. There are also enemies. Ninjas and samurai. There are different types of ninjas, bomber ninjas in orange belts, dagger ninjas in pink belts, and archer ninjas in yellow belts, etc. Use your cannon to launch bombs at these ninjas and samurai in order to defeat them.

    Edit:
Oh and about the shop. Accessible only after completing/failing to complete a level. You can buy items to use and even ship upgrades, like cannon upgrades and stuff.

We submitted today! There's quite a bit of toilet humor (but overall unoffensive) so I hope it doesn't encounter any difficulties. Good luck on your exams!

We'll post a trailer and a video of gameplay once the contest is over on the main games forum. I hope you guys will like it. :)

My bad! I do love how you said farmer ninjas. Is it too absurd to think that ninjas can farm? I imagine deadly ninja skills are transferable to the practice of planting seeds and harvesting.

I wonder if more devs are going to start running these types of contests so you all can write our games for us. :p

It isn't absurb at all. :)
    From Wikianswers: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_did_ninjas_orgin

Ninjas were originally farmers that were treated unfairly by the Samurai, and war lords. They were not as well train as the Samurai and in a fair fight the farmers would lose, so they did they wait til the Samurai had his back turned to strike. If want more look for the Deadliest Warrior: Spartan Vs. Ninja.
