Yes, that is a very good way of opposing this model. I'm doing my part as well, I already told all my friends, relatives, as well as the other gaming community I am part of to refrain from getting into ngmoco games.

Bro I think you should carefully read all previous post before coming up with your 'calm down' argument.

Why do so many people not see the good?

Piracy. If this cuts down on piracy and enables developers to get more back for the time they put in then the incentive to keep creating is high.

I got Cogs and despite looking forward to it the game didn't rock my boat. I paid for something I will not expand on but I got to play at a price that sent some to the developer albeit a small amount. Was the experience worth the price? Yes.
If someone else tries Cogs because the entry price is low and likes it then that price model created a sale which would not otherwise have happened.

This type of pricing actually gives us more control for those games that we might like but aren't sure of. If the end cost is going to be the same as it would have been as a full price release then there is no legitimate reason to bitch about it is there?

In the end though people here want the apps to thrive and improve. Someone had to take that step forward into a new pricing model didn't they?
Maybe you want the store to stop?

No one is complaining about the cogs or Rolando 2 model. As I've said guys read the post to get the big picture. The last last few post are simply waste of forum space.

lol what a stupid thread. why would you hate freenium games, i love them. you get a whole, amazing game for free! i mean if you want to make a few in app purchases you can but you dont HAVE to. why are you ranting about great games being free. Ngmoco is genuis i wish all apps did this. plus it prevents from piricy. im gonna come out and say this, and idc how many ppl flame me for it I LOVE FREENIUM GAMES and I LOVE NGMOCO. going against free games HA!!

oh and also this game looks very good and ngmocos upcoming game god finger also looks amazing. i love how they keep friends conected together i can see me n my friends having lots of fun on godfinger killing eachother.

I also feel the same way as Godzilla. The point here might be some deep moral standpoint against protecting children from spending iTunes credit on freemium in-app purchases, but any intelligible adult with a credit card is solely responsible for his/her own spending habits.

If you don't like the freemium model and can't control how you spend your money then don't play those games. Why Ngmoco would be scum though, I have no clue.

The only downside I see to this direction is ads. Leaderboards are subjective to you personally as a gamer. Why you would play We Rule to pwn the leaderboard is beyond me. It's solely based on xp, and honestly who cares. The whole game is about artistic social design. The point? For fun.

This is the point of games in general. Yah it's annoying to be killed a million times in Eliminate by people who have made in-app purchases to max out their gear, but that's the problem you face in all gear based multiplayer games. And I think Ngmoco finally recognized this and released the pve co-op version to combat that issue.

In the end I admire the choices devs are promoting in the app store. Would you like to pay for your fun, or have it for free? Care to try a free demo, or maybe pay for only the first level? Its choices that make the app store great.
