It isn't uncommon for devs especially small devs to promote their games by using buttons or stickers. I can probably name quite a few off the top of my head. Bigger devs on the other hand will do promotions with merchandise like shirts, caps, posters etc. Such stuff have a 'limited run'. If you aren't game, you could have simply ignore this thread. Totally understand where you're coming from. The contest probably isn't for everyone and fortunately there are plenty of promo code giveaways on TA too. And yes the postage is more then buttons cost but, that doesn't make the buttons less cool to people who like buttons. Heck I have a set of 25th anniversary Mario buttons on the way from nintendo as we speak. So, I'm not the only one who think people like buttons.
Totally... I got some buttons from Tympanik Audio (my favorite record company...), and some stickers and buttons from Get Outta My Galaxy, and have put em up on my wall next to my computer... I think I'd almost rather have buttons... We can all buy the game, not everyone is gonna get buttons... =oD Just my opinion... But I'm definitely someone who has grown to love buttons/stickers/promo post cards... LOVE it... =oD
