http://itunes.apple.com/app/id454057328 COB Games introduced BubbleDodger 2.0 for iOS devices. Are you tired of all the bird games out there? BubbleDodger is quite the opposite. This ocean inspired game has your fish, available in 4 colors, dodging bubbles like never before. But that's not all you'll be dodging, no no, there are other sea creatures and objects that are out to get you. To find out just download BubbleDodger from the app store and start having fun! BubbleDodger features retina graphics, smooth gameplay, and great controls. Your fish can be controlled via the onscreen joystick or you can switch to tilt control which uses the built-in accelerometer. There are 3 game modes to choose from that have increasing difficulty during game play. Gameplay is simple and can be picked up by anyone. This is a game for all ages! Game Modes: Survival - in this game mode your goal is to swim back and forth across the screen as many times as possible while dodging the bubbles and any enemies that may appear. Time Attack - same as survival mode only there is a timer that you must now face as well. As you make it from side to side more time will be added but make sure you don't take to long or it will run out. Journey - this is different from the other modes in the sense that you are no longer swimming back and forth. You'll be on one continuous journey to avoid the bubbles and several other sea enemies. So break free from the norm and jump on in and get BubbleDodger now in the AppStore! Device Requirements: * iPhone, iPad and iPod touch * Requires iOS 3.0 or later * 13 MB Pricing and Availability: BubbleDodger 2.0 is only $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category. I just played this some, I played survival and its a slightly different take on an endless runner is what it feels like to me (or maybe i've been playing too much jetpack joyride lol) but I mean that in the best possible way because the game does have that "one more game" factor. I had to actually force myself to put the game down to write some initial impressions As for criticism, I think the animations could use some work, if that would happen i can see there being mass appeal for this game because the existing artwork is actually pretty nice and the game is addictive, I'll definitely keep this on my device.
Thanks! I'll definitely look into doing something with animations. I've felt that is one area that could improve as well. Appreciate the feedback. Can't wait for more.
Wow, I'm on this forum everyday talking to devs and helping out as much as I can, but I always seem to miss these promo code giveaways. It seems as if they're always gone in 60 seconds.
I like the idea of the game and think it looks good but found the controls a bit tricky. The tilt control was jerky and although the joystick was much smoother it made it hard to see the bubbles rising up on the very left on the screen. It does have the "one more try" factor though.
I just got the my promo code plus I like to play a decent amount before I give feedback. Plus, I still have other games that need to be dealt with. Haha! It's awesome that you guys are so anxious because that shows that you really want to make the best game you can! So far, the graphics look nice, and for your first game the controls aren't too bad. The joystick is a little sticky and does block you from seeing the bubbles on the left. For the most part, this is an endless runner and I think a couple of power ups would do it a great service. Also, for what I've played, it is challenging and has that "I want/need to try again" feel, but only to a certain extent. An update or two could probably change that. I need more time for any real in-depth feedback.
thanks, and I have thought about the power up idea as well. is there a different type of control you'd suggest over the joystick? i know the tilt feature can be a bit tricky as well. hmmm...maybe have it follow your finger.
Yeah, I was thinking of finger control also. I would also suggest, at least, trying out tilt. My last suggestion would be trying a floating dpad. If you need any help with testing, I'm your guy!
Thanks. So who wants more promo codes? I think I have about 15 or so left. If I can get over 100 downloads on Bubble Dodger Lite: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bubbledodger-lite/id460715067?mt=8 I will release more promo codes tomorrow once I see the downloads.
