Well I think I'm done with GE. Haven't gotten points for voting or reviewing. Sent several emails and no reply.
Anyone else having trouble redeeming gift codes from FMA? I've been getting a request error for the last day. Edit: It's working again! Word of warning: Stay away from App Redeem and their App Store app, App Trailers. They will ban you sooner or later and keep your money.
You don't get points for voting Hit it or Quit it on GE. You only get gooms by reviewing apps on the free hits section: 200 gooms and the games GE gave out on Monday and Thursday, which surprisingly haven't been given out in the last 2 weeks. Wait till Monday to see if you get credited with the reviews.
Do you know what's wrong with App Trailers/Redeem? Redeemed a ten dollar gift card on it (after 9500 points apparently magicly appeared ) and I keep getting something that says that I have "reached my daily cap" and to "try in 24to48 hors". Well, now it's been over 48, and still can't get it. Sigh... Was hoping to get Blastaway.
this is the first time I got that message about waiting for gc guess I'll wait and see plus I just used app trailers to sign up never used the app for getting points
Yesterday Apple updated it's ToS.For us who constantly use sites/apps like FMA,FAD,AppCasher,AppNana, etc. is a terrible news.Let's hope that Apple won't reject apps that use this system, and pray for the best. I have earned alot since this summer (won't get into details on how much I earned),but I got myself a AWESOME camera and waiting to buy a iPod Touch 5th gen.
For Safari-based sites it's not a danger, but it may be for sponsor apps, because they could be rejected. As far for Gnome Escape I don't use that, but it's similar to FMA.For FAD,beside the app there is the Safari version for alternative. WE all know that playing with the charts hurts Apple, but this had gone too far. Let's all hope they won't pull out apps like Wikets,FAD,AppNana, etc. from the store.
I think this should answer most of your questions. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/10/01/new-app-store-terms-third-party-promotion/
I read through all 35 pages of crap terms of service, and I don't recall anything that would prevent us from using these services, but I was kind of falling asleep reading those 35 pages of crap.
PocketGamer spotted a slight change in the new Terms & Conditions, now specifically saying that “apps that display apps other than your own for purchase or promotion in a manner similar to or confusing with the App Store will be rejected”. Okay here is the jist of it I guess from that link. First of all, is this from the user term and conditions or developers term and conditions? Cause what does your own mean? Does this mean that ads in games promoting other games will be illegal too? Crazy vague language to me, perfect for lawyers to twist to their liking. And why would appshopper be affected? And only the app, not the web version? I have to say this whole thing is weird.
I think it's notable that it uses the language "similar to or confusing with the App Store." I think they're trying to weed out apps that confuse people into thinking that messages or sites are official (from the App Store). I don't think it calls for panic. The new term does not say you can't promote other apps, just that you can't do it in a manner similar to or confusing with the App Store. Big difference.
Yeah, I kind of agree, it seems a stretch to use this wording to ban appshopper or services like FMA, FAD, GE, AC, AR, etc... Wow there are getting to be more and more. I think the wording is more for apps that try to imitate the Apple store, but who knows.
I know that the Terms changed; everyone with an iDevice who used the iTunes store today knows that. Can you post the relevant sections? Of course, Apple couldn't be considerate enough to include an overview of just what is different in the new TOS, and I read through to about the 10th page before my brain (and eyes) started melting like something out of Indiana Jones and the quest for the Lost Ark.
