Don't forget to remove it's profile! (which used to be under Settings -> General -> Profile, but I'm not seeing it there under 5.1.1)
It removes the profile itself, almost immediately. So no, you probably won't see it. Look, I'm a privacy freak, yet after searching extensively, the company seemed legit. The profile provides them with your UDID, but any installed app can get that info. Freeappdaily is the sort of service that apple would never approve for inclusion on the AppStore, so it simply has to have some that app specific ability long enough to write the UDID on to a cookie. There are other sites that try to install profiles that I would be much more wary about, such as tapjoy.
I think this is in reference to my comment a page or two ago. Either way, I don't think they steal account info, but I believe that some of the app sponsors do. I gave my email address to a couple and my email got hacked very shortly after (for spam purposes). It's an email address I've had for many years and which I only use for signing up promos, etc. The email address had never been hacked in all my years with this address. But that said, I think FMA is legit. They do not control the sponsors and I can not say which one hacked my account, but I'm very confident it was one of them. Just gotta be careful.
I've got 1540 credits. And with exactly zero new apps added probably in the past two weeks, think I'm going to just keep saving up for the $10 iTunes card and call it quits. FMA was so much better just a few months ago as far as "gifts". But not only have no new apps been added, the number of gifts as a whole has dwindled. There's now only 16 apps available to me (probably about half of what there used to be) and over half of those are iPad only. So, it'll take a while to get me up to the 3000. I'll take my gift card and run. Just too much work for the gift cards and that's the path they now seem to be taking.
Seems borked to me, which is sad because I've had several devices primed to snag those lower denomination Amazon gift cards.
Captcha not working! Anyone tried to just dl the app and hope it catches on or it doesn't work that way?
I wouldn't try that. I'm pretty certain that you can only get points if you use the site to download the app.
Anyone with a lot of points brave enough to delete their cookies and reinstall the profile? I think I'll hold out for now.
Can't speak for others, but I've deleted cookies and reinstalled the profiles multiple times before and after reinstalling the profile, and I still have my points. I was somehow able to get the Captcha to work..but don't know how. I did delete profile, reinstalled, had a few errors, and ironically, I accidentally entered the last Captcha wrong, but it got past it and I got the credits. Need ~250 more for 3000 credits..
I only had 100 or so, but I just deleted cookies and reinstalled the profile. I think they may have disabled the capcha thing temporarily. It worked fine though! One reason to do it as soon as you can though is that sponsor apps don't always stay up for that long.
LOL. I've deleted the cookies many time. Don't worry the points still there. @beelzebub23 I've just try it. Received credits for spellcrafts but no credits for trade nations. Edit: FMA just clarified this on their facebook page, "Please remember, to earn credits from our sponsors you must tap on the sponsor app from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, then download it from the iTunes store, play with the game or use the app and then come back to FreeMyApps to earn credits! Please don't go to the iTunes store directly download the app and come to FreeMyApps to get credits because we cant issue credits that way! Thanks soooo much for being fantastic friends of FreeMyApps! Luv ya!"
