FMA said things were changing because of the removal of UUID collection (though I don't know why that's a problem, other similar services launch a webpage which then launches the appstore to confirm you've dl'ed the app). I fear this is the direction they might be headed towards. Whatever, I just got back on for the first time in a year or so. Just hope they have enough free dl'es to take me from 1950 points to 3000. If not, I'll grab an Amazon card. Too bad that you can no longer by GC's from Amazon with Amazon GC's though. Gnome Escape is the rock in the ever changing sea of app-credit providers. Some don't like that you can only use your points on ios apps, but that is the whole reason I use these services. If I want something from Amazon I'll just buy it.
Hi everybody. There is truly a thread on TA for everything I discovered all these services a while ago, but didn't pay much attention. Now, I started with FAS for the iPad. I already bought every app I wanted, and buying apps is not a problem(so no GE), but I really wanted to get something worthwhile:an iPad or some PayPal cash. What is the best service to run for an iPad? I have a UK AppStore account
Paid apps aren't something we are pushing for more than free apps. Sometimes companies come to us and want to run paid apps, so we do. I wouldn't expect any changes in the type of apps or anything else from the switch off of UDID. The only real change most people will see will be in the new enrollment process (still being worked on), which will have another step or two :/
http://paloalto.patch.com/articles/exclusive-local-startup-reacts-to-apple-removing-popular-app Bit of interesting industry news for you all.
Thanks for the info. I had remembered someone from FMA saying big changes were in store because of the UUID situation (for those who don't follow the ios development news, new apps and updates will no longer be allowed to capture the UUID of a device as of May 1st); but that seems pretty minor.
I've never had points expire as long as I log into FMA once in awhile. IIRC you just have to launch FMA once in a 60 day timespan. It's possible you either erased your cookies the cookie/security certificate expired.
Just logging in won't do it actually. You have to have an app download, or a social share, to reset the 60 day timer. Technically it is 62 days because you get the 48 hour window from the last app you downloaded added
Even though FAS seems to be going downhill, I have stuck with them since I started using the service late last year. So far I have managed to claim: FIFA 13 - 60,000 points, Modern Combat 4 - 72,000 points, GTA Vice City - 45,000, a $15 iTunes gift card - 160,000 points, Minigore 2 Zombies - 27,500 points, Angry Birds Star Wars - 14,500 points, Ravensword Shadowlands - 63,000 points, Tiny Troopers 2 - 14,900 points, Badland - 50,000 points, The Other Brothers - 14,800 points, CraftedBattle - 13,600 points, God of Blades - 13,000 points and Bloons TD 5 - 13,000 points So in total thats 559,500 points worth around $50. With no referrals just dedication. All for free.
FAS sucks and only grab my one spin a day and than move on to FMA @Dorgi any new songs/paid apps coming soon?
I don't really get the hate for FAS. It's got plenty of problems and it's not good for GCs, but no deal-killing issues for me. My biggest beef is not getting spins for DL'd apps. I couldn't get spins a couple weeks but finally got spins again recently and am hoping that issue is cleared up.
I think it's just that FAS used to be so great. I reckon they were too good for their own good and now they give out less daily spins and sponsored apps to compensate. If you were to start using FAS now you would probably get nothing, or at least nothing for long time.
The reason I dislike FAS is because they are not reliable. Incase you don't know FAD = FAS and the same pattern is going on where at the start they have loads of giftcards and than suddenly they have problem with their systems. So if history repeats itself soon points will be taken away or redeeming won't be possible.
With FAS I reckon points will get scarce. They haven't added iTunes giftcards in what seems like months but they still added Badland and The Other Brothers just this week, of which I claimed both. However I won't be able to do redeem anything next week or maybe even the week after as I simply don't have the points and I won't get the points by then.
FAD in the end of life added some Amazon GC, and I managed to spend all my points. Hope FAS will do the same and keep collecting credits ))
