Free app providers discussion and updates

Discussion in 'Price Drops, Must-Have Freebies, and Deals' started by VoodooVyper, May 2, 2012.

  1. Long time ago, as was mentioned, they used to give out free apps for free 150 points no need to do reviews, and some great games like mentioned above. So, it was actually better back then. But lately, it's been gaining some steam again with cool free apps like spunk and moxie or others. But now you have to do reviews of them for 200 points.

I think GE gave out those apps for free to promote their site and to attract more users.

I've recently tried a service that paid me $0.30 for reviewing temple run 2 and $0.30 for reviewing real racing 3, neither of those apps need any paid reviews, especially real racing 3 which pissed off most of the users with their freemium feature.(but still, it scored 4.5/5 in app store!!)

But there was nothing to spend your Gooms on so now it's in fact a lot better :)
You can get whatever app you want, no matter how popular or dated. The freedom is yours unlike other sites *caugh*FAS*cough* that only has a few apps at a time, giftcards often out of stock, and most apps being uninteresting to say the least.

Gnome Escape is the best even though they don't offer GC's. First, You can get points for reviewing some great paid apps that they BUY FOR YOU (this week, Cyto, for example), just see the recent comments in this thread. Second, their customer service is second to none...actually, it's exceptional, while all others (except maybe FMA) have NO customer service.

And we ARE customers. We provide downloads for these apps to help them climb the appstore charts. As a result, we recieve compensation. Considering Ge provides PAID apps for free, they give you the most value in this exchange. It's also nice not having any quirky point exchanges. EVERY review gets you 200 points. EVERY 99 cents worth of apps redeemed costs 1250 (IIRC) points. No spins getting you who knows how many points, no fluctuating values. You always know exactly where you stand points-wise.

I was there. But come on...your getting a paid app for free! With no strings attached! You can aleays skip the review and bank the free app. GE is ridiculously generous compared to the other services, especially if you actually enjoy reviewing apps. I'm a bit nutty; I usually leave 500-2000 word reviews. Maybe it's because I hold a BA in English and have a bit of trouble being terse and concise. The reason I suck at Twitter ;)

Greyskull, you're forgetting one thing: if you use, for example, an app from FMA for 30 seconds, you'll only get FMA credits. If you find the same app in another page (for example, in FAS), you won't be credited for that page. GE doesn't have that problem since it's review based.

Very true. I'm not getting any Appcasher points because the apps are identical to FAS.

The reason I stopped using FMA (thanks for Reactable Mobile and Garage band...they used to have awesome apps to redeem) is the random nature of the service. It's too easy to miss apps now, and the point value means you can spend forever before redeeming something. At least with FAS, there's always a good, cheap game.

We are both old enough to have had to write research papers longhand. That means with a pen or pencil, folks. Hell, my senior (I think, maybe junior) year in HS I got pulled out of class by the guidance counselor. I didn't bother writing an essay to move on in the National Merit Scholar competition (I was a quarter-finalist at the time) because I had long stopped caring about school, abetted by my general laziness. Essentially she forced me to write the 5k word (minimum) essay then and there. No computer; just me outside on a bench (the school was undergoing a lot of construction) and a pen. Finished it, handed it to her, hopped in my car and headed home...I didn't feel finishing school that day.

Ended up a semi-finalist. Even w/my 2.3 gpa. I'm the only person I know with a gpa barely high enough to graduate who recieved full ride scholarships to UF and Penn State, among others.

Got started with GE; are there delays/time requirements for reviews? I played an app for about five minutes and submitted a review, but it's not credited to my account. Does it take a bit, or did something go wrong? This was earlier today, was wondering if there's a minimum time to use the app or something..?

You dont need to play it for 5 minutes. You just need to leave a review.
it lasts between an hour to a day. Make sure that your GE profile has the correct review ID.

How long do your GE reviews have to be in order to get the credits?
