I have no idea but earlier I didn't have half on this stuff, maybe something was up at my end. Haha the app I was gonna buy with my bc, max Payne just showed up too. Was this here earlier or something?
It looks as though the GCs are only available to 'free' just once like the apps. I've redeemed a $10 GC and wasn't able to see it the next time I knew it was up there but I was however able to see the $15 available to me. I guess that'll be the one I save for next
I'll never save enough credits for the GC anyway. Was gonna get Black Ops Zombies the other day but got the message that it wasn't available. But what I really want is N.O.V.A 3...hope they add that!
i have 1140 points and i've been saving for iphoto, but now that there are gift cards i'll probably save for one of those.
That's not actually true. Go ahead and delete all cookies within the Safari iOS settings, launch FMA and see what happens. All of your credits and redemptions & completed offers will appear to be reset to a clean slate. Once you go through the process of re-authenticating your UDID and allowing FMA to set its cookie again then your FMA account will be correctly recognized and back to "normal." FWIW, I don't think this is a serious concern at all - just trying to clear up what's been said with what's technically accurate.
You're actually right. I did try that and it seems FMA doesn't leave your device after all This is very alarming...
I understand people will abuse the restore system but FMA should be upfront about placing a tracking software on our devices. Potential future FMA users, beware of this. FMA will install some kind of tracking software to your device and it will not go away even if you reset/restore your device.
You are contradicting yourself. You disagreed with "NO Cookies or any other data left on your device" but you stated "Once you go through the process of re-authenticating your UDID"... It doesn't install tracking software. It only uses our udid. Which is what most online games use to tie your saved games, purchases to your account anyway. It installs a cert to read our udid. Similar to testflight, which if you don't know, uses the same system to get our udids to the developers to prep a beta. When we restore our devices, we don't change our udid anyway. It is fixed that's why it is called the UNIQUE device identifier as such we will still get back our credits when we reinstall the cert which reads our udid. To sum up: 1) Cert reads udid. Credits tied to udid. 2) Uninstall cert (remove cookies/restore device do the same thing) equals removing the ability for the site to read your udid, equals no credit. 3) Reinstall cert, ie. give site ability to read your udid, credits once tied to said udid appear. This should answer the question well enough.
Lots of websites use cookies. It's not that evil a practice. Especially seeing as this case is an authentication cookie, not a tracking cookie anyway. If FMA can't identify you they can't give Credits to your account. What bothers me about this system is the light it sheds on the fact that the apps themselves are leaving breadcrumbs on your device even after you have uninstalled them (seen in the ability to determine if an app was previously installed/run before). This is not tracked by UDID, already disproved that using UDID Faker on a jailbreak a while ago. Wish I knew what file(s) that info is being logged to.
nah. It is simply udid. Udid faker works by changing udid of games so you can essentially play a game on a 'new' device. Udid faker will not work on freemyapps, testflight as they do not appear as an app in the udid faker list. How then do you expect to fake your udid? Safari? Pointless. Because they get you to install a profile, they get your real udid. Udid faker cannot change the profile so you are not able to fake your udid from freemyapps. It is that simple really.
You misunderstand. Quite the opposite of contradiction, I supported my statement. Since clearing cookies/certificates removes functionality and re-authenticating (reinstalling the certificate) restores functionality this proves that FMA must install data on your device to function properly.
