Ok, here's a real story about birds. It's funny in a morbid humor sort of way, like in a Hitchcock horror movie, "The Birds" sort of way. =)

A good buddy of mine, awhile back, was on a road trip with his parents, driving cross country. He doesn't get along with his parents and they basically forced him to go in an effort to have fun. So along they went, his dad merrily driving on the US highways, my friend sitting in the back seat, really depressed at the thought of leaving his friends.

Several hours later...Bam! Out of nowhere, a bunch of birds smack into the windshield of the car. Feathers are everywhere, the birds obliterated by being hit at 70+ miles per hour. My friend's dad can't see through the feathered windshield causing him to slightly panic. My friend saying "oh god, this trip can't get any worse." But it does. His mom offers advice to his dad, the now panicking and very upset driver, to use the car's windshield wipers to clear out the feathers.

    This is a big mistake.

Instead of removing the feathers, the windshield wipers manage to wipe the bird carcasses all over the windshield, smearing blood everywhere, leaving half-circles of dripping red. Instead of feathers, they now see the bird's insides on all over the windshield, like some grotesque finger painting. What a way to start off a road-trip, no?

I was in college when my friend told me this story to myself and our friends and we were both shocked and laughing at the absurdity of the tale, as only to my friend, could a harmless family outing turn into a horror movie. He has a many such stories of bad luck. On top of that my friend was a big fan of the "The Birds" Hitchcock movie, too, so it was just ironic that real life mirrored one of his favorite movies.

I think this true story is indeed a case of "fowlplay", pun intended.

Anecdote good enough to qualify for a promo code? =)
