I spent a couple of hours during a cross-country plane flight playing this today. I was using a Nimbus on a new iPad Pro 12.9. It works really well. Very smooth and felt exactly like it should. No problems at all with the MFi controls, just occasional glitches with the person controlling it. The world is fairly empty. You get to move around at will until you get to an area with enemies and/or obstacles to avoid. Some of those areas can be quite crowded.
After reading this thread, I just had to buy it yesterday. While I like the game itself very much, I absolutely hate the controls. Or more precisely how sensitive and finicky they are. I am playing on iPad Air, just the slightest movement of my thumb makes the thingy go where I don't want it to go and always too far and fast. Please, please, add a sensitivity setting! I am sure it would be better with a controller, but I don't have one. Also I would much prefer n button for dropping bombs, instead of swiping. I played to the first boss yesterday. I know how to defeat him, I just can't make myself try any more unless the controls are changed. I loved Mines of Mars and never had a problem with it's controls if that helps.
Hi everyone, We've fixed the Achievements bug! We've also improved out tutorial a little bit. Will submit the patch soon, hopefully it'll be live on the App Store later today. Chees, Mauro
Hi RedThumb, thanks for your feedbacks. We've worked a lot on the control system on touch screens, tweaking it for the best results possible. We're collecting all feedbacks post-launch and we'll try to address them: adding a sensibility settings and an option to have on screen buttons from power-ups is something we'll definitely try to do. Cheers, Mauro
Hi Skyrise, just wanted to be sure you received the first room bug details. I can replicate it consistently (i.e...always): going to the up right corner crashes the game.
Yes....I went back there several times to check things...noticed the top right corner has debris so I tried to bomb it and pass through it (as you do in other places)...every time the game crashes on iPad Air. Meanwhile.......I FINALLY FOUND NEW ROOMS!!!!! HUGE ROOMS....found other Tetris slabs....still no idea on how to use those slabs. I have one Tetris piece but I have yet to find the right slab. Also, I can now drop twin bombs.
Yeah I have been back their too, just wanted to know that I got everything, but in the right corner first room the game crashes also on Ipad Pro. Spoiler I am know in the lava room, where you need to bomb things with this fire blob, it's a very big room so I will be there for a while.
It crashes when you get back and it's night? We are unable to replicate it when you start the game and if coming back during the day. Will investigate it, thanks for the report!
Yes it crashes when Spoiler You go there and it's night. I thought it gave me access to another location but it just crashes.
I should have trusted my long ios experiences besides seeing gameplay videos and reading this thread...and yet i invested my last bucks (premium support so it's ok) in a game i really want to like (top atmosphere and sounds), but can't. Though i can control our hero, the inertia is even worse than i expected. I simply can't get used to this slowness. Another minus for me is the possibility to get lost. The map doesn't really help me too much. Before i delete the game, will the inertia change at some point, with a powerup(s) maybe? I'm at 19.8% (just reached 1st teleporter) and picked up almost everything so far. I guess so due to my long and careful exploration.
So what's the exploration element of the game like? Is the game truly open world? Is there lots to see and do?
Basically there is a lot of ways to go exploring. You can't see everything in your first way, you will collect items to unlock new capacities. Then there is a lot of secrets : puzzle temples, mysteries and key to found and collect. It really feels like Metroid in that way, and the different bosses are really cool !
After the magma huge cave? I'm there too, 49,9. Tried everything since last hour...I can corner him making the intersections electrified but.... Awesome boss btw....
