Hi everyone! We are a small (really small) aspiring indie developer studio from Turin, Italy. So small we don't even have a proper name for the studio yet... Anyway, we worked for the last few months on a new iOS project, and we're ready to announce the project and share our first screenshots and the teaser website. The game is an action adventure, aimed to the avid gamers, with a peculiar and unique control system and a nostalgic graphic style. We strongly believe in iOS devices as true gaming devices, so we tailored everything, the control system, the pacing, the speed of action and so on, around the devices strongest point. We are targeting iPad 1+/iPhone 3GS+/iPod touch. The game will run at a constant 60 frame per second on all the platforms except the 3GS (30fps). With full retina support for the new iPad and the iPhone. It's developed using the Unity 3D engine and some awesome extensions from the Unity Assets Store: Ragespline, Ragetools and Poolmanager. This is our teaser website: http://www.forma8.net Teaser image (it's actually an entire level in the game, and running in engine as you see it): Screenshots: And if you like it: - follow the project on Twitter: https://twitter.com/forma_8 - and on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/forma8 Every feedback is appreciated, this is our first experience as game developers (...but we played a lot in the past! ). We'll share more information soon, including a proper video trailer for the game, and we hope to have a proper developer blog soon! Thank you for your attention and you feedback about the project! The two developers from a no name (but not for too long!) aspiring indie developer studio in Italy
The artwork is fantastic, and I have a feeling that December is going to feel a long time away, especially as you continue to share more about the game, including videos. I'll especially be looking forward to learning more about the gameplay specifics, and how much content it will be shipping with and whether you plan to add more over time. Congrats on your first game!
Hi guys, just a little recap. After E3 we went into 'hiding mode', rethinking and redoing a lot of things and features in forma.8, and we'll be ready to show a new demo soon. Since it's a really big project and we don't want to rush it (we want the game to be the highest quality possible), we need to take some more time, so the game will miss the winter release. We hope to have everything ready for the first half of 2013. Meantime, some new screenshots from the latest version! We'll have a lot more soon. Dark and mysterious ducts Doors and locks Dangerous foes and energy sources Caves and shields Puzzles and annoying jumping creatures Big gear wheels and bombs The game runs at full 60fps on all the supported iOS platform (3GS+/iPad 1+), with full retina display support and, on iPad 2+ and iPhone 4S+, with a gorgeus 8X antialiasing. Thank you for following our progress and feel free to ask anything you would like to know about the project!
Hi guys, we have big news coming soon about the game! Meanwhile... a work in progress track from the soundtrack, composed by our music guru and sound designer, Simone Fougnier: https://soundcloud.com/funi/forma8-wip Enjoy!

Looks sweet, this reminds me of perfect cell, and that's a very good sign ! Hope it's only a few months away from release now ?
Reminds me of the best things about Another World and Perfect Cell with additional mechanics. Look forward to trying it.
Another World was one of the main inspiration for the look of the project, we (me and the graphic designer on forma.8) are huge fans of the game, although forma.8 is very different, gameplay wise.
I'm really enjoying the visual style and the coolly ambient vibe from the OST. I'm hoping the gameplay will to these two elements justice. On the iPad, the real estate this game commands will definitely give it the deceptively illusive, wonderfully immersive and generously expansive experience lacking in so many games. Good show so far, dudes.
Looks great guys, loved the style of Another World. You nailed it. Looking forward to the release. Very curious about the controls. Any clues on how you control that lil forma.8?
Thank you! Graphics aside, gameplay and the control system are our two primary concerns: our idea was to make a 'real' game that works on touch devices, with the right action pace, the right timing, the right control sensibility and so on. We hope to have nailed it, but time will tell! We'll release another trailer in some weeks, with a lot more action on screen. This first teaser is deliberately slow and show only a fraction of what's possible to do in the game.
Thanks! Hope to have the game ready for late april/may. Yeah, just a couple of clues: we ideally divide the screens in two half. Dragging your finger on the left half moves forma.8, tapping and swiping on the right half uses the different forma.8 powers. The movement is inertia based, and you need to move the finger only a bit to move forma.8 on screen. It's difficult to explain, and easier to try, but after a bit of practice you can be really, really precise. The game is action packed, and having a very reactive control system was a priority.
Just saw this mentioned on the front page and I'd just like to say that you now have another guaranteed customer.
