I Think You Need to learn The Game,i die more time on RESIDENT EVIL 20 Years ago,and more now in it's Hd Remaster PS4 Version,if You Think this it's more Difficult i disagree,You say you're a Game Veteran? I'm on Gaming from more than 30 Years ago,and i play it without even saving,i let The floppy where they Are,and i finish The Game without die,in less than 80 minutes(without Run) You Need to learn how to play The Game..You don't know that with The little shadow girls You Need to have different approach...try to master The Game,then You can tell me if it's so Difficult with The current saving system..play and try to remember where every floppy and PC Are located..good luck
One thing people don't seem to consider in this thread is that not everyone plays games (including games like this) solely for a challenge, but also or in some cases even mainly for the atmosphere, story, etc. When you think about it, dying in a game is literally the most immersion breaking thing imaginable. As I already stated in an earlier post, I think many people would agree that repeating stuff you just played isn't fun. I think the ideal balance for a game like this (Once again, I can't really comment on FM specifically, since I haven't played it yet) is when fights are just challenging enough that you frequently come close to dying, but only close (unless you really do screw up, in which case there has to be some sort of punishment of course). Also could you PLEASE put a spaces after your commas, points, etc? Like it or not, but incorrect spelling and bad formating are a pain to read.
I played for a really long time and finally found a floppy disc, but when I picked it up, for some reason it didn't go into my inventory and completely disappeared. This meant I couldn't save my progress and I eventually died. To be honest I'm not sure I can be bothered to go all the way back to my last save (about an hour and a half ago), play it all again only to find the same thing happen. Why did this happen? Was it a glitch or has the update put my file on some sort of hardcore mode where I cannot save? This game is really good but it's tricky to appreciate it and play it through with issues such as this. I'm considering just putting it on the non-floppy disc mode so that I can actually complete the game.
Considering that it has affected them so much that they are adjusting their priority, I will say yes, it looks more to be a wrong decision. I am a gamer. I don't run a charity. I support the games, not the devs. Unless said a dev continously failed my expectation several times in a row, that's when I give up. If they make another game that looks interesting to me, I will be there. Look, I appreciate that the efforts they have put in all these years. But that doesn't mean the customers are not allowed to point out anything that they feel uncomfortable with. In a scenario where you received a bland meal from an chef, i don't see what's wrong with voicing it out to the chef and hope he will take a look and see if there is any problem to it. What is happening here is a "you must be a fast food guy. Go eat elsewhere. Geez I am never going to cook this meal in this place again". Of cause I can eat elsewhere next time. Of cause he can choose not to fix the current meal. But that's not the point. We are providing the feedback to also assist the chef to understand where MIGHT have went wrong here, and apply the things he learnt to improve his future effort. Back to the topic here. You said there are two groups here. The first hated the save system. The other finds it a little annoying. Do you not realize that you are saying nobody likes it?
Yah. I just don't want people to misinterpret that some of us are hating on this game without any rational. I love the atmosphere, and I really loves the enemy designs. Its just that we think the save system is a flaw which may have bring in more harm than benefit. Which leads to my suggestion earlier on that if they are not removing it, then maybe improve it with a map or more save points. The few posts in the last page about REmake has been making me ponder about something more as well. Just speaking from personal thought, I think REmake save point mechanic works well because it functions as a save room too. In REmake, it gives the player that anxiety feeling of limp-rushing towards the save room after a huge battle. That constant looking out for any new ambush in the corridors between you and the save room, opening up that map and counting down the number of corridors in front, and that feeling when you finally reach that safe haven where you can finally catch a breather. with that typewriter, that item box where you can heal yourself and some ammo, and that smoothing music. Even if not, you can keep returning to the save room easily after covering some new places so you don't lose that huge amount of game data...perhaps the devs can take these into consideration next time.
now im more excited than ever before to see the next one. get both, both are awesome but different experience. but FM got me hooked more than LW, you can see that i never post a single comment on LW thread except for gameplay of course ps. beta tested soooo many games before, but this one got me really2 deep and makes me feels like im a part of the game itself.
I'm guessing the reason you're catching some flack for complaining is due to the fact that you continue to repeat the same complaint and argument, to the point of badgering the dev into either conceding to your point of view or changing his vision of the game. I'm not saying that your problems with the game are invalid, but just what are you hoping to accomplish with the repeated "save game" complaints? In your bland meal scenario, you'd voice your problem and leave, possibly getting a refund in the process. What you wouldn't do is stand over the chef, and repeat the same complaint over and over again until he changes his recipe. I'm pretty sure they'd throw you out of the restaurant by then, valid complaint or not.
This is so funny. An opinion is an opinion but they are judging a SPECIFIC FEATURE of the game that is a homage to a classic as a PROBELM.
