im afraid the second and next episodes might end up being on console only(and vita, yes its portable on the go), i'm pretty sure console gamers are very welcome to this news if its true.
Why shouldn't it? There are people that have been asking for it. Not everyone owns a powerful PC or a home console. Even for some people that do, mobility is just being able to play a game anywhere in their house - on the couch, in bed, on the toilet - not tied to the TV or a desktop monitor. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I think maybe once I've played my 3DS or Vita outside of home. I get that the game isn't for everyone, and that's ok. There's not much you can do about that. But just because the traditional mobile crowd doesn't like something doesn't make it wrong, and it doesn't mean there's no place for it.
Unbelievable, like if Capcom do a RESIDENT EVIL port to iOS,they need to change the save system? I don't think so.. Me too,by I really hope not happen
Cause if a thinking of a team, need to be changed cause people play 5 minutes on the go,this, and the other episodes, are not mean to be,instead are meant to be a true console game on mobile, like it's mention in the review, but without necessary have to change or do compromise to please casual/or people that want play short play,we want "Console" mobile games, and when 1 time happen, lot people explain that this is mobile,I hope people reflect on this think.. Tato, totally agree with you,but think to us,I mean the guys how know how the game it's mean to be,and it's happy with, lot of us like the game and also the real save system"normal mode"and happy of the purchase,so,I say you continue with such awesome episodes also on iOS,we're here to wait them, and of course also on consoles..
I want console game on my PS3,PS4,and on mobile,if happen,I'm proud of having Console game experience too..
If you really think the game was reviewed 3.5 stars just for its old school'ish save system (which is a matter of taste, imo) then I seriously suggest you to read the review again cuz it clearly pointed out all of its flaws.
I'm one of the guys that read the Review 4 times, and Other than Saving system problem,I see a you can't switch from normal and easy mode, cause you need to start again( they've 2 different save system, that why)then it's been on purpose cause finish The Game, and Start a new One,on Other Difficulty,it unlock The same and You get access to new features(new weapons, developer console,Costumes, and lot of Other thing, then the unresponsivness to look around?I don't Think so,never have this problem.. the need on PC cause you need to find them and you need to do lot of play? I take 30 second from going from first PC to the second one..and not cause I'm a tester, game like this need to be mastered and played till the end,and then again, cause have so many secrets, different path, the Melee fight it's after a while(if you don't use shooting weapons) repetetive? Of course If not mention/or you don't know that 90% of the game can be play stealth,or simple you can also avoid you're enemy..sorry,but this is what I think..we can't think all in the same way
All this developer empathy and such is getting excessive here. kukulcan I know you are making a joke so this isn't directed at you but the joke you're making. Post your honest impressions. Don't let the developers presence here influence that. Threatening it will be Vita and consoles next because of this? Alien Isolation got many criticisms for the manual save system even when it got good reviews. It is an antiquated save method that isn't viable on mobile or consoles. No one likes replaying 20-30 minutes of a game. Especially when, in the case of FM, could have happened because of the poor combat controls and not because of any "survival" aspects. REmake kept the save system but there is no way for them to change the original game. Also you aren't getting phone calls and on the go on a PS4 or whatever. This game just doesn't fit mobile. From being on the move and not being able to see anything when in bright places to crashes and the save system this game is anti mobile. It would make no difference on Vita as the same issues would come up. Honestly, I could care less about the save system and would worry more about the awful camera and combat. I enjoyed the game but it isn't perfect as the many defenders here will make you believe. Also the metacritic average is in line with what TA gave it. Pocket Gamer gave it a 7/10 and many others too. Amazing graphics, story, atmopshere, sound etc. but the combat is awful. Making a survival horror game based on the old antiquated ways that developers worked around old technology is not a good way to make a new survival horror game. RE tank controls are not good controls, Silent Hill excessive fog is not good graphics and manual saves is not tension inducing. Move on and make something unique to the platform and the genre. Don't try making a game that is based on gameplay from 15 years ago. Genres evolve and get better. Making an FPS today with the controls and gameplay of a game from 1995 doesn't automatically make it a great game. Genres change for a reason.
This it's an homage to The Old Survival horror of The 90,it clearly stated in app description,if You don't Appreciated this, move on,but this wont say that we Change our thinking!! I've also nothing with You,only that You Think different to me it's normal
Did you not read what I wrote? Making a game from the 90s doesn't automatically make it a good game! I do appreciate it but no one cares for the antiquated gameplay anymore. Just a small minority. Bad controls are bad controls no matter what. I would hope the awful controls are intentional. Are they any better on a controller? I feel the touch is fine, it's the camera position and movement speed, along with the sluggish animation at those times. Aiming a weapon effectively is nonsense.
The average metacritics now means nothing (wait a bit more for other sites to enter their reviews). The game have has 4.5 stars out of 5 on the AppStore. A lot of web sites reviewed the game 9.5+ out of 10. Review rating means absolutely nothing, user rating on the other hand is the most important rating you can have. You have been a long time hater, before game release, just after release and till now so I don't have any time to argue with you.
#1000 post! Congrats!!!!!! What I'm really about to say is I believe this person was one of those trolls saying that it doesn't exist. I wonder what they feel like now. The most disgusting thing I find here is that this game gets a lower rating because it's "a mobile game" and therefore it should be "easy and short" yet people complain about mobile games getting crap like flappy bird. This is completely ridiculous. You don't put bias in a "review." That review was on the basis of the person NOT LIKING a feature and describes it as a fault. THE PROBLEM HERE is that a game like this gets 3.5 for its faults but there have been many instances where Pay to Play and freemuim games in general have gotten better scores while at the same time ps speaking waaaaaay less depth and effort that was put into the game.
He's not guessing. We are probably done with mobile. And i really feel sorry about our supporters and specially Apple who spend a lot of time and featuring the game on the home page the entire release week. Sure the game is far from perfect but forcing me to create a "mobile on the go game", no I can't. Why? Why we have to create the same gaming experience as others developers for mobile? Most of our users are iPad users, they rarely go outside to play games why are we forced to create a checkpoint system? Forgotten Memories have been since the beginning and old-school survival horror game, if you ever played the original Resident Evil, you'll see how far each save point is located between them and yeah it sucks dying in a game but that's what old-school gaming are and dying is part of the game mechanics. We decided to release the game first on consoles and people here asked us to release it on iOS first, we changed our plans and pleased everyone by releasing first on iOS. This could have been a different story on consoles, where the target audience is more hardcore, with a physical gamepad who also spend more time playing games. Despites all those negative funny reviews, the game still rated very high in the AppStore and lot of websites; and is selling really well (200 000$ only the first week up to now close to 300 000$) by the end of the month it will reach our target goal. This will of course impact our future plans, we will continue supporting our current iOS users and all planned updates on iOS will be done as stated but the next episodes will get to consoles first (Vita, 3DS, WiiU, PS4, Steam, etc).
Your last sentence is absolutely right. The reviewer has his very own opinion on this game and therefore his pov is as subjective as every other review is. I just don't get why Tato "has lost all his faith in TA" when he just stated that a review score means absolutely nothing (still, some people will probably avoid the game now). It's surely kinda depressing, I know, but that's the way it is and always was. There is really no reason to be mad at TA and there is even less of a reason to stop or delay the mobile version just because TA has rated it 3.5*. Edit: oh, and I'm very exited for the PS4 version to come out *_*
i definitely understand all the fuss about the save system (which on one occasion let me replay more than 3 hours, because the discs didn't show up, clearly a bug, which I recognized in a new start over), the sluggish controls, th worse gun aiming and I really think this all is worth to mention, BUT didn't anyone recognize the gruesome GUI on th iPad?! it totally puts me off, especially the unprofessional use of a word/ pictogram mishmash. the "buttons are to big and way to bright AND they are ugly/lazy designed. the whole game, the graphics, the atmosphere, the sound design (some of the voice actors sounded pretty bored), everything works good together, but the GUI looks pretty terrible and rushed. please consider redoing it, if you need help, I will help you (made a redesign for a rovio game, years back, which also lacks in finish). other than that, I really enjoyed it, apart from all the many replays I had, because I died from the inaccurate aim system. and please, get rid of this terrible shake to push back the enemy, it really, really breaks the immersion from a game which is strongly relying on this. cheers, tobie
