You are wrong, the majority of buyers liked the game difficulty on v1.0.1. Only a minority didn't liked the game for a number of reasons (they wanted MFI, or checkpoints, play 5 mins on the go). After the update, they where all happy.
Again, this game isn't an universal game to fit all players types, you are free to dislike it and move on.

I've taken on 4 enemies at once and survived, it's all in the timing and adjusting yourself during the fight. Also I always back up after each strike and keep turning the aim as they approach me

    Arrogance? Seriously?
It's clearly stated in the game description, challenging and "Limited save points". And yes, limited save points adds to the challenge and difficulty. Ask those stuck in some areas in normal mode and being able to finish the game on easy mode.

After watching your videos AppUnwrapper I can see that you basically just frail around while standing still waiting for them to come to you, which would never work in any fight situation. Every time you hit one of them they are pushed apart which means that the spot you have aimed your weapon is no longer the spot they're in also you jeep using the 3 strike attack which when landed does more damage but wastes energy and leaves you open to attack. Stick and move like in a real situation and you'll walk away victorious.

Kukulcan you keep going on about stuff you know nothing about, there were no paid testers ( no promo codes either we all purchased the finished game) and no "hardcore" gamers selected to test it, as far as the shaking goes it's used to give you a true feeling of being grabbed by an enemy and as such the tapping both sides of the screen was not working as well, plus you died faster that way. The current shake version is a bug that causes it to take longer than during testing to get away.

So to summarize, there is not and never was any secret plan by us "Hardcore" testers to abuse the "casual" gamers. We've been playing this game for some time now so we're better prepared than the rest of you to handle the situations thrown at you in the game, that does not make us hardcore it just makes us more confident.

I remember dropping my controller the fist time the dogs came through the windows in Resident Evil, I wasn't prepared but now I am

Like I explained in my review -- in a real fight, I wouldn't throw my entire body forward just to swing a pipe. I also hope I wouldn't be out of breath and unable to run from just two swings. Plus all the other problems I listed (and someone else went into even further detail than I did) for why the combat feels too clunky. I know I flail around -- the problem is I don't see any way to prevent that, especially against two or more enemies (sometimes coming from behind). Some people may enjoy having to replay the same part a number of times to try to "master" the controls. I would rather have controls that feel natural and don't need hours and hours of time invested just to feel like I have some control over the outcome.

And the shaking is what finally did me in. You yourself said that's a problem.

Edit: As for staying put, one would think that if the enemies are coming at you, you should be able to hold your ground and swing as they come at you -- instead of going to them. I tried to stay put so I wouldn't get too close to them when they're attacking me, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It's hard to tell when they're close enough to injure me and for them to take damage themselves.

I was able to master the combat pretty easily, and I even felt safer using only the pipe at times (guns have to be reloaded). If you've got one enemy in front, and one enemy behind, you can just circle strafe around so you're facing them both from the front. And when I attack two enemies, I don't set my crosshair directly onto them. I judge the offset of the third person character model, and then I can easily strike them both at once. The combos are a bit tough, sometimes I actually move forward while striking so that I manage to land the third hit.

It's all about timing, and not bugging out and going crazy.

This is exactly the best combat tutorial. The combat system is just that simple. Try everything he said above and you'll master the combat in no time. :)

    Shaking mechanic a dealbreaker.

This otherwise 5 star, top shelf production, is totally broken by the dysfunctional "shaking" mechanic. It doesn't work! Here I am, engrossed in a creepy, terrifying scene, and the next thing I know, I'm back in the real world feeling like a tool for shaking my iPad like an etchasketch. And the mechanic doesn't even work!-- those stupid shadow guys just won't let go.

This is SUCH an absolutely stunning game in every department, but this one extremely broken game-mechanic just ruins it. There needs to be an option to replace the gyroscope gameplay with button push options, or a QTE, or something,... Anything else, really, just so long as it works.

I mean circling around the enemy in front of you so that your facing both of them from the same direction. Most areas in the game are big enough for this to work. Where it really gets tough is if you're fighting a mannequin and a
    shadow enemy
    at the same time.

Minor quibble. Did any of the beta testers bring up the correct spelling of CENSORED? This came out worse than any of the other typos since this word comes up a lot.

Also, in one of the recorded messages, Noah pronounces the nurse's last name as Simons, not Simmons as it is written everywhere. Does that mean Noah cant read? Or does the whole asylum not know how to spell?

In one of the locker rooms where Rose says "How could six patients disappear so suddenly?" Disappear is mispelled as DESAPEAR.

I'll list a few more as i go through the game. Im not good at this spelling thing, and i know the devs arent english native speakers (are they?) but i thought maybe some of the beta testers could bring this up considering it had been on beta for quite some time.

  15. Ha the Simons thing drove me nuts every time I heard it, too (which was a few times, since I restarted several times). But I figured my review was long enough...

There were a lot of spelling errors found and while most were corrected 1 or 2 got missed also the voice recordings were made early on and they weren't able to redo them later on when we got to test the game

    ^This.
The whole "shake-your-device-like-a-madman" does not add to gameplay whatsoever, in fact it ruins it. Here you are motionless, sitting on your bed and completely absorbed in the atmosphere then all of a sudden you are forced to shake your device like a baby wanting more milk for the bottle, what in the world? I've never been a fan of gyroscope for anything, not even racing games (always use touch controls). Not only does it look retarded if you're shaking/tilting your device all over the place on the bus, it adversely affects the whole visual experience.
QTE would be much better, like maybe tap icons that pop up similar to how they did it in Dead Space iOS. At least make it an option for those people who don't like depending on motion sensor.

Yeah there are lots of spelling/grammar/pronunciation mistakes, probably the dev team are not native English speakers. I didn't find any ridiculous errors yet so I have no problem with them. Some scripts are really cheesy/cliche'd though. When in doubt, just don't write anything. Silence is better than bad dialogue.

By the way anyone notice the mannequin inside the men's restroom is female? And she's doing the male urinating pose? Lol, uhh interesting taste the devs have... futa mannequins.

But don't get me wrong, if they fixed the dysfunctional shaking mechanic, I'd give this sucker SIX stars if I could.

That's why I'm so irked about it; I otherwise think this is one of the best atmospheric horror titles I've seen on iOS in years.

We are removing the shaking mechanism, it's being replaced with taps on the screen.

This game is so difficult, and frustrating rather than frightening.

I paid and played it. It is difficult to control the character. Whenever I play this game, I feel very frustrating. Whenever encountering every additional foes, I was killed, even on the easy difficulty. OK, someone seems instruct us in this forum how to fight (He says it is quite easy to fight, but I doubt it!), it must be helpful, but it may takes 4-5 more continues to master the technique. I think the reason they made it work with MFi is for the solutions for awkwardness. Playing this game on iphone is really too awkward.
The biggest problem in this game is it causes us frustration.

I thought limited flashlight on v.1.0.1 is good idea when I played. Searching an unknown room and needing to return to the charging point, you are to be frightened by the change of the situation in the corrider during walking back to the charging point. It was good, so far, but there, you are atacked by another manekin and are easily killed. This spoils the frightening experience, because you have to continue from the first again!
And shaking is not bad idea, but in practice, I was killed during shaking because it is useless, or maybe due to some kind of awkwardness. So removing it was indispensable.

By the way, I reported camera sensitivity problem on v.1.0.2 but It was OK after rebooting the iPhone. So don't forget you players reboot your devices after updating this game.
