Still can't believe the game runs at 60fps and looks this good.

Bought it and gave it 5 stars to support the dev for all the troubles they went through! Too many people doubted them and called them liars which must have been very very hard for them. Well done for finally releasing it!

I bought it twice with my 2 Apple ID accounts + i'm gonna gift the app. I did it for the same reason + I really love this game. They deserve it.

  7. Honestly, "limited save points" sounds like checkpoints to me. But from what I've read here, it sounds like you need to first find a floppy disk, then find a PC, and that you can run out of floppies if you aren't careful. That's much more hardcore than checkpoints, since you can't just go back to the PC every few minutes and save just in case you get interrupted by life (or die).

Again, this is a mobile game. Most people are going to buy it for the atmosphere, not expecting this kind of save system.

Maybe you guys are making it sound worse than it is, I dunno. But that's the main turnoff for me.

The game is VERY challenging. I bearly beat the game in the beta, it was a struggle. Just play smart. Save only when absolutely necessary, use health kits when necessary, and run from enemies, fight only when you have no other options. It kinda reminds me of Dark Souls difficulty. Just make smart choices and you will do fine.

I did think the same but to be fair i LOVE GTA on iOS but you can only save when you get to a garage or you have to start the mission over again etc

And this is what I was waiting for! And the saving system? It was probably the best idea.

hey that was supposed to be mine :p jk. seriously people, if someone said that this game is too hard, probably they were get spoiled by ios gaming scene for to long(just like EP said before). if youre serious bout the quality in gaming then you will find that this game is rather challenging than "hard". but thats just my opinion.

@ip4weather, dont give up my friend, this game really deserves every attention and time from you to spend with.

ps. and yes, im not getting paid for every review i wrote in this thread :p

just get both, they're both great games, but if its me who have to choose between one, then you must know which one is my purchase ;)

I think while it has been published on a mobile platform it's not really a mobile game, and that's something Tato has been adamant about delivering for the past 6 years. Sure you could try play it while waiting for the bus/train/an appointment in small bursts, but you'd be robbing yourself of the experience. It's something probably best played in bed, with the lights out and the intention to spend at least half an hour - 45 minutes doing so. The save system adds a huge amount of tension and the game would really suffer (as a horror) for not having it.

For sure it's going to be a point of contention among the player-base, but I think it was the right way to go.

    Can i haz cookie? LOL

Even though i didnt think TA regulars would admit to it, the save issue is already preventing some people from getting the game. I thought this was brought up during testing, but everyone just agreed that it's better for the premium experience, which definitely isnt wrong.

Just that the general user base of iOS gaming, despite wanting premium experiences, are playing on mobile devices for a reason. Else they would be playing on consoles instead.

I personally like the limited save function, but it may be the wrong dish to serve to the iOS customers.

  15. I've enjoyed other games that don't save often (like Hero Emblems), but those are things that make a game basically a console/PC game you happen to play on your phone/iPad. They're not really mobile games. But this one seems to take it to the extreme with the limited floppies (from my understanding).

In Fear I Trust had saving issues when it first came out, and it wasn't considered a positive -- most mobile gamers don't want to waste their time replaying the same content for nothing.

Arggh the game doesn't have a save option and when you close the app it just offers new game again!

This is a mobile game give me a god damn save option, or regular auto saves.

Most people who browse the App Store don't know what he's been saying the past 6 years -- they will make their decision based on the app description, trailer and photos (and maaaaybe a review).

Even Hero Emblems (whose hardcore aspect I learned to love) ended up adding a casual mode for those who don't like losing an hour of their life with nothing to show for it. Because many people downloaded it expecting a mobile experience, not a console experience.

Edit: Implosion proved you can give a console experience and still be mobile-friendly. The game is best enjoyed at home, but you can easily play a level or two while waiting for the train. True, this is a very different game, but it's still being played on mobile devices, and your audience needs to be taken into consideration.

"Save only when absolutely necessary" sounds very challenging when the gamer has a family and a job. LOL.

Right, that's a fair point without much room to argue. I'm sure it'll be heavily mentioned in reviews and it is mentioned in the description under gameplay features (though the description is a bit of a wall of text that people probably glance over before heading to the screenshots/video). Perhaps they could make it a bit more clear what exactly is meant by limited saves, and put the info further up in the description just so people know, but I still think it works in the games favour.
