actually about the framerate perhaps there is a misunderstanding here, tato, if my memory serves me correctly, never said that this game will be a constant 60fps, instead he said average will be 60fps on A8 device with all effect turned on. so, if you have any extreme framerate drops please state where you had it? is it because may element on one screen(
    the room with many mannequin?
), or when you enter some area with many lights on screen? please help us by giving more information instead of accusing the developers as a liars. beta tester are human too, we tend to make mistake, while you my fellow members perhaps have a better sight to noticed the framedrop.
dont say you are willing to help and appreciate the developer while you keep attacking them and not giving some constructive criticism. if you think that this game doesnt deserve your 5 bucks then there is always a way to refund your purchase. but if you appreciate their hardwork for 6 years then please stay with us here, perhaps even joined the beta team for the second episode and together we'll make this game the best horror game ever created on a mobile history. a legend like silent hill or RE.

ps. phew, i still remember those days back when i was just 5-6years old with atari and nintendo games, you only choose a game by saw the picture on the box. no complained, no suggestion just enjoyed them. kids these days, they're spoiled by how generous the developers to come down to forum and listening to our suggestion. well, you can try your luck with EA for example :)

It seems to be a clone of SH: Shattered Memories, even the name is highly similar. Does it have combat at all like the other Silent Hills or purely exploring/running like Shattered Memories?

Also, does it run smooth on iPhone 5? Description says recommends iPhone 5S/6.

Also, this is only chapter 1? Not a complete game? Wow for 6 years you'd think that's enough time to develop the full game.

  3. It takes a little longer to load between rooms, but it runs pretty well on my iPhone 5 (I posted video a few pages back). I do find it harder to see things on the small screen versus my iPad. But performance-wise, I haven't really had any issues yet that I didn't also experience on my Air 2. But the recommended settings are with fewer effects.

After spending some more time with FM, I have to say, this is easily one of the best and scariest games for iOS. Hell, this beats other horror games just with it's atmosphere alone. It reminds me of the Resident Evil 4 beta, and I think Tato & his team really did a great job with the whole mannequin theme.

As for the negatives, it's mainly the flashlight and save system IMO. Having to constantly worry about the flashlight going out kind of distracted me from the actual game. It's a little funny that most of the time, I was more tense about having to charge the flashlight than the atmosphere and mannequins. Having the light go out really doesn't add any more tension or scariness, it's honestly just more of an annoyance. There was so much thought and care put into the level design, it's a shame that we just can't use the flashlight as much as we want to see what's happening around us.

I'm really glad to see there's going to be an update that will lengthen the flashlight's battery and stop the background crashing, because this is easily a 10/10 game with those issues addressed. Some kind of map would be really helpful too, but that's more of a convenience thing than anything.

    Either way, great work Tato!

What is wrong with people here?

Not once did I say I did not like the game. I praised it and said it was great and have spent almost 3 hours with it.

People assume that because I am having technical issues and my frustration with that is the same as my opinion in the game itself.

Also where else are people supposed to go to provide feedback for technical issues?

Seriously? The developer is asking us to NOT talk about the technical issues and move on? Thanks so much!

In the end people are constantly saying they are getting 60fps and such with all effects on an iPhone 6+ yet provide no details. Your details are just as anecdotal as mine if you cannot provide proof.

If the developer console unlocks after beating it to get the fps counter I'll be sure to use it and get back to you. As of right now I have no way to measure fps and no one here can prove their 60fps claims.

There's a minor update coming next Monday but MFI controller support will be on Thursday update (April 30rd).

    @Cosmos,
No game on earth will ever do 60fps from start to finish all the time for many reasons: game data loading, shader compiling on the fly, real-time streaming, memory instancing and collection, etc, the list goes on. That's an average measure. When we said solid 60fps is not at all times as state above but as an average measure (which means most of the time). On top of that, Forgotten Memories is a heavily dynamic lighting/shadowing/post processing game running on a mobile hardware.
All our testers and developers devices have shown solid high frames in-game with measurable in-game tools. If that isn't enough for you, I can't do more than what the hardware is capable off. We are already pushing the limits of the hardware by a very large margin.
Now, you are free to point out issues you are having but no reason to over state the same stuff again and again. Plus treating us as liars and beating the game without any real reason is unacceptable sorry. Like others said, if you felt ripped off, just ask for a refund and I'll be happy to help you out.

    The overreacting is ridiculous.

New account?!? I made it in 2009!!! Look!

No reason? I've said poor performance and the save issues.

I've said the gameplay itself is great and that I'm enjoying it and have put in 3 hours.

I feel like I'm going crazy here.

I mistake with the other guy having a new account, but still my point is valid regarding game performance.

I've a much better question, what the hell is wrong with you here?

You asked a question, we answered.
You then proceeded to effectively and to all intensive purposes accuse us of being liars because we didn't provide you with direct evidence.
When even you yourself could provide no such evidence of you're own situation.

I didn't accuse you of anything towards the developer, I merely wondered to myself why I wasted my own valuable time disclosing these results I should not have disclosed only then to be accused by the person I answered, who themselves could provide no evidence, of being a liar and "useless",

I had intended to inform of the unlock you get when completing it but after being essentially accused of being a liar and of being [sic] useless, I decided i wouldn't waste my time.

Next time, if you have a question, keep I doubt if anyone will see any point in answering someone who is going to accuse them of essentially lying because it's not the answer they wanted to reinforce their own whatever it is you have going on there.

If you continue the way you are now, you will get exactly the same back as your behaviour determines.
When you start showing some respect, you will get respect in return.

I totally understand! The developer console that unlocks when you beat it allows to check the fps?

I just wanted to share the issues I had and see if anyone on similar hardware can provide their impressions.

I apologize if you think I'm just bashing the game. I'm not! I love it. I love survival horror games and this is pretty much the best Silent Hill game since SH3. Quite a feat!

Hopefully the memory issue solves the app memory wipes.

As for the fps I'll reserve my feelings until I can measure the fps and provide concrete details. If anyone who has access to the fps tool can provide their own measurements that would be great!

Thanks for communicating with us so much and for all your hard work! :)

No it's because you refuse to provide your own fps metrics that you say have the proof and answers.

I don't have access to it yet sorry!

You do but won't provide details.

    Ok...

I will provide imagery later (I'm finishing the patch now) but that will prove you wrong. Are you ok with that? :)

oh, please, give me a break.
I never offered "proof", I offered information, an answer to your question, something I was under the obvious misinterpretation that the forum was for.

Take it, leave it,whatever, I'm beyond giving a damn one way or another whether some random person on the internet thinks I'm a liar or not.

This is becoming some sort of argument that was never intended.

I just want some sort of measure to see if my device really is having issues or what. Just some impressions and details on fps. That's it!

    Yeeeeeeesh

If you finish the game you have the developer console (must be enable through the options menu) and various commands to benchmark your device: tfps and tstats
tstast will shown a graphic on screen with drawcalls measurements, cpu usage and rendering milliseconds if you really want to deeper in your measure but as i said earlier, no one here is having any slowdown issues with any A8 device. If you ever got any, you may probably want to check your device and/or software. What I suggest is to install benchmarks applications and run few tests with them then check with similar devices and results if your iPhone6 or OS have a problem.
    Regards,
