I play on the train and bus outside with no problems as long as you're not in direct sunlight but that affects any game on iPad
Progressing steadily through this one, and i see that all the game needs is a Spoiler checkpoint system for all the big happenings. The game really is spooky. Last night i was playing in bed with the lights off and every single sound (in game and out- especially when my door creaked open a little) had me on edge. The atmosphere is phenomenal. I believe everyone playing this one in broad daylight without headphones is doing themselves (and the game) a great disservice. Is there a nude mode? LOL. I'm serious, though.
I find that backtracking while fighting helps put some distance between you and the enemies. Don't go for more than two swings of your weapon as the third swing is more powerful but leaves you open for those fast swipes the enemies have. That third swing is useful at times though with its knock-back, especially the darker enemies. Failing that, you can always run away into another room. The enemies reset, though that just means you're going to get attacked somewhere else...probably.
I was hoping to wait it out for the PC version so I could play the game at 60fps but after the deva mentioned that A7 should run at 60fps,I took a dive. It doesn't maintain a solid 30 let alone 60 not to mention I can't turn on motion blur. This is on an iPhone 5s.Very disappointed. The game itself is fantastic though best horror game I've played since amnesia better than revelations 2.
MotionBlur will be enabled in Monday's update. There's a little bug on it but I got it fixed already.
Tatoforever, I have a question about the game! I haven't sufficiently played enough of it yet to find out, but are you guys considering introducing some kind of big, creepy stalker at all? What I'm trying to say is, can we expect some kind of Psychoz "pyramid-head"? Pleeeeease??
i second this... though i haven't finished the game maybe they already got a "pyramid head" that would be scary as hell
Ok I just spent about an hour playing through the intro and part of the asylum. I then quit the game back to the main menu. And the only option was to start a new game. All my progress lost. WTF?? There was no option for saving anywhere. I saw a stray comment or two somewhere in this thread (of which I've read little) about the save method - something about a computer? I found a couple computers, but they were broken. How does the game save? And why in hell is there no information about it anywhere? Not even in the game description in the app store. This is a beautiful game - masterfully done. But this is also a mobile game - you have to be able to save at any time. So...wth?
There's is a mention about the save system of the game in the Description, Save points (kinda the same system used in Resident Evil 1/Remake but with floppy disks and computers) which btw is different from checkpoints.
I finally got round to playing it last night and I think that if you accept the fact that it's a game you need to dedicate time and effort to then it's pretty fantastic - I can live with the save points but it does limit the amount of time I can spend on it......
You have to manually save at working computers by using consumable floppy disks you find lying around (like the ink ribbons in Resident Evil). The first save point is located at the end of the first hall in the asylum after you complete the red-curtained prologue area.
If you're having framerate issues, make sure the "Aberrated Vignette FX" option is turned off. I've found that feature currently has the greatest impact on the game's performance: on my device the game runs smoothly with everything else turned on, but the minute AVFX is turned on, the framerate basically halves.
I played during the day on my iPhone and could barely see anything. the bigger iPad screen does help, but the game is dark. My character just wasn't swinging. She was standing there taking the hits. But on my iPhone, I just kept hitting with no problem until the thing went down.
All it says is "limited save points". That's not helpful at all. You really need to provide more information to the user at the beginning. And why not save at the end of the prologue?
There's one in the series but I can't talk too much about it, otherwise I'll be spoiling! If you want a hint here:
Ugh, I must have stopped just short of it. There really needs to be info about it at the beginning of the game. #
Because we don't automatically save user progress, it's up to the user to find save stations and save. However, just after prologue after you wake up, there's a computer at the end of the corridor with a floppy disk where you can save your progress. Cheers,
