Don't worry, we won't bother you with any updates anymore. I asked testers to stop posting in this thread. I'll come back when we have the release date. Regards,
On the contrary! Updates? We've ALWAYS looked forward to being updated by yourself (and just to make it clear, I was referring to the old release/submission/rejection comments...those have not been happening for a long while now), but like I said...people get so worked up over Forgotten Memories and the slightest comment from testers sets off a barrage of "SO HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT!?!?!?"-like comments from others...and we all know how that ends.
Congrats to the devs. A very positive video, great to see it in action, does look very impressive indeed

Wow! I'm actually really impressed with the game engine and the love that was put into this game. The video linked actually made me feel like I was watching a gameplay video of something off the Playstation 3. My faith in this game has been restored. Looking forward to it and hopefully getting to play it very soon!
After so long and after all the anger and misunderstanding i am so happy that you guys finally see what we been talking about and it looks fantastic and plays even better, great job to tato and the team.
Very much agree. Le me add one thing: RE: Revelations on the 3DS was supposed to be a return to "classic survival horror." That 10 minute preview was far creepier, scarier, and immersive than anything in that entire game. In a perfect world, execs at Konami would see this video and immediately green light a Silent Hill 2 port.
No in a perfect world, Silent Hills PT would be ported over so we could have heart attacks on the go.
It's a playable nightmare.. Your game looks fairly scary too, but in a classic way as opposed to silent hills Bat sh*t crazy way lol. At any rate FM will scare me to death as I'm a massive wuss when it comes to horror games.
Oh btw, What I meant was that FM got different ways than SHs PT to scare the player. And you got it right about that classic touch but believe me, that video it's really nothing compared to the sh*ton scaryness you'll suffer playing the game.
Everything from the AppSpy preview looked pretty tried and true, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I'm hoping you take advantage of the familiarity of it all in the first portion to turn it all upside down later on - nothing scarier than when you think you've worked out how and when things can happen only to have it change on you. PT, while unsettling, was pretty much jump scares and screamers. IMO that's not the best way to do horror. You want a slow burn, constant threat - the hospital/nursing office sections in Siren: Blood Curse (excellent semi-recent horror game for those that haven't played it) where you play as the daughter come to mind. You always know where the enemies are so there's no surprise, but you cant just sit in one spot forever or you'll be found so are forced to take risks and move, even if you don't feel comfortable doing so yet. By the way, AppSpy seemed to suggest that the build they had was still quite early, and to not expect the game for a little while yet. Did they just have an older build or have I missed some recent news? The last I heard was the team was hoping to submit the final build to Apple for approval this month, then sorting out all the other pre-release stuff before picking a date.
Totally agree, Besides some classic freescares here and there, the huge fear factor in our game comes from all gameplay mechanics, enemies, environments and carefully crafted sound design. We rely on lot of unpredictable elements, from progression all way to enemies and combats, feeling alone, the sense of being lost among other scary things.
