I will try to answer this as correctly as i can on behalf of the dev, at the beginning the plan was to have short episodic game just like telltale games or similar, as the game went forward they actually started using and developing a kick-ass in-house engine and the game was moved to that. At first the first episode was supposed to be a small taste of the game but as time went on and they had new ideas and added new things to the first episode it became so big that it took around 8-10 hours on the first play, so they shifted the plan from a short game to a huge first episode release, at the same time they are finishing episode one they have people working on the other episodes so they can deliver in a timely manner. yes they are a very small team and very gifted and yes they are using there own money and they put a lot into this game and i am sure they would get 10 times that from the sale. I tested this game a while ago and it scared the crap out of me and it looked amazing and when i say amazing i mean i don't think any game on itune even comes close to it and it took me around 4 hours and from the talk i had with the dev over the time and the progress i have seen it is twice as good and bigger now than what it was then, hope that covers it.
Hold on, I don't remember this happening? I mean, I'm happy to pay Spoiler if it ever comes out , but that's one hell of a broken promise.
lol its a broken promise to change a 30+ min game to a 8+ hour game? that's like choosing between a trailer or a full movie, send me your US itune id i will personally gift you the game myself, thats how surprising your comment was, usually people saying why can't we have premium games and we are tired of free games.
The way I understood it the decision to switch to an episodic game (which it still is) was to expedite something being released and it being a free, smaller (a mere 30 minutes was never mentioned) episode was a sort sorry for jumping all over the show as well as being a good way to get a lot more people on board initially - if the second and third episodes really are going to be released in a reasonable time frame this still makes sense. In the last year I don't recall any significant extra content being added to the pilot, just engine tweaks, enhancements, new shaders and optimisation. At least that all us regular non-beta folk have been told. As I mentioned earlier the official site, facebook and twitter offer absolutely nothing either. Of course it's possible I've missed posts explaining any changes, this topic can be a real mess at times so I just skim pages. That said, I'm happy to pay for it myself. Horror is my favourite genre for any media and if even half of what I've read about it is true I can see it being worth the premium. I realise that a lot of extra man hours have gone in to doing whatever it is they are (supposedly) doing, and that has to be compensated for. It's still a surprising backflip and I can see others being less willing to take the chance and pay. Cheers for the offer though, I absolutely wasn't demanding all games be free and abhor the f2p model so many games are forced to use. I'm a pay once and have access to the full core game sorta guy, cosmetic DLC/IAP is fine.
if you are a horror fan then take my word this game is easily up there for me right beside resident evil and silent hill i loved the beta and what they added since then made it twice as large and twice as scary, the reason the first episode took a little longer was because they wanted it perfect, the game and engine so now for the other episodes they have less bugs to worry about.
This is what I don't understand. No game ever releases perfect. If what you're saying is true, then FM won't be released ever. It will keep getting pushed forever. BTW, how long does beta testing typcally last? And how long has FM been on Beta? Just curious
I have seen some beta's lasting almost a year and FM was given to beta testers around 6-7 months ago and it was tested for a couple of months, its always good to iron out as much bug as possible, trust me nothing is perfect but i rather have a bug free game then getting stuck in the middle of a horror game or worst
It wasn't beta stage it was at. I thought that RC was a stage where the game could be released but they were just doing some final checks. I'm also sure that the developer said that he was adding more content after the testers had finished testing Surely this is putting it back to square one and it will have to go through all the testing stages again. It was also mentioned that Apple employees were playing it. What happened there? Reading previous posts it did confirm that a small taster episode would be free and that the main game would be about $6. Has the taster episode now been canned? Yes, I can understand that the developer wants the best possible game out there to be proud of but this smacks of someone who will never be satisfied or happy with the product which equals no release
Hello guys and happy new year! I just came quick to make a small announcement. We are going to send the game for review this month (unless something strange or bad happens) but keep in mind, It won't be published right away. As soon as the game is internally approved by Apple, we'll set a release date and make the announcement. PS: A final gameplay trailer is also in the works. Warm regards from Psychoz Team!
Well I don't post in thread because of reason but I do check it regular and look forward to the game. Great news!
I sure hope this game gets backed by paying customers. We need more games like this and those who pirate games ,are just making it real hard for developers to earn a living doing this. Good luck Devs!
There's a big mobile site making a hand-ons preview video about the game right now. I can't tell you exactly when should be live but probably in the coming weeks.
