Understandable yes, but there's no need for anybody to be concerned.

All the testers have attested to the brilliance of the game so there is no doubt as to its existence that some people had earlier and that it does live up to and exceed the expectations people have.

And now that we know this to be the case, I generally find that when something is taking longer than anticipated, something is just being fixed or made a little bit better, a little bit more optimised, a little bit of a better experience.
Which is of course the right way to do it rather than release, hope for the best and fix it later.
Which is a policy too many developers adopt just to make deadlines so its nice to see someone make a change to that perspective.

It ultimately comes down to the question as to whether people want it right now with the risk of some bugs and potential problems or would they rather have the complete finished and fully polished product at launch.

I know what my choice would be and I fully support you're opinion and stance on the matter Leo. Thanks for the positive input.

Thank you guys for all your comments. It really shows people's interest for our hard work. As other testers already said, we are a small team working day and night (right now polishing the final stages of the episode).
And for those who don't believe Apple is testing the game, I can invite Mark Hickey and his friends at Apple to chime in this thread if you want. I guess we don't need to get up to that point?
We actually got a physical meeting few months back, since then they are testing the game and providing useful feedbacks.
I would like to re-iterate for people saying the game took 5 years to make. Well, technically It took less, we started prototypes and design back in 2009, the real production started two years back. Last year we decided to cut out the game in various episodes as most of those episodes are quite lengthy (5-10h gameplay). We recently splitted the development team in half, one side is working on polishing the Pilot episode, the other half is already working on content for two upcoming episodes.
Again, I can't comment exactly when we'll release the first episode, we should announce something soon. And by soon I really mean "as soon as we are done with the final polishing and the game is approved for sale on the App Store". All I can say is that you won't have to wait till the end of the year.
PS: For those saying this game will only be about graphics, little info: The episode have 17 pre-rendered cut-scenes (using our game renderer), gazzillions interactions and side stories, 2D/3D puzzles, voice-dialogues, open-indoor exploration/progression (you do whatever you want to do in any order), every time you take a different route and change your progression, the game changes and adapt to it, dynamic difficulty and balancing, the game adapt the way you play to keep constant pressure on you, smart/dynamic enemies and boss fights. Plus, everything have been tailored to create fear. And when I say fear, I'm not talking about cheap free-scares, I'm talking about real gameplay stress and fear. Many many other features and details to name just a few!
With love from the Team! :)

Totally agree, if this came out today and there were issues the same people moaning about 'whens it coming out, whens it out' will moan about the bugs/issues !

I'm sure we're 'close' to a release, i'm looking forward to it but i'm happy being patient a bit longer

    Indeed,
To add on top of that, yes we need money but that's not what we are looking for. You know, there's tons of way to earn money faster than spending years working in a game! We do really care about this game, we are in fact in love and quite passionate with this game and even if we don't sell millions of units once it's published, we would've achieved our ultimate goal, which is to bring a pure survival horror game to the masses. Something that I'm sure about is that whoever play this game, they will love it (specially if he/she's a survival horror fan)! :)

Don't worry about the sales at all this will be a hit,I'm not being a fanboy here gamers are really frustrated by the lack of great horror games in the past 6-7 years.I mean scary horror games sure there have been great games like amnesia but overall there's been a distinct lack of pure horror experiences like those of silent hill and resident evil on ps1 and ps2 era. This game 'is' going to sell millions of units take my word for it.:)

Would you say that most of the dev work so far has gone into making the AI and other systems that will be present throughout the whole game, and not into the actual content and story. Because if so, that's actually pretty good news since I'm sure pumping out the next episodes will be really easy. Well, at least comparatively.

    Yes,
We have tons of content that came since we started prototyping few years back. We are reusing and adapting those content very rapidly. The last two years were dedicated to the engine and gameplay sub-systems which are now fully completed. We've basically created a survival horror game engine that would let us produce about any kind of horror game (action oriented, exploration oriented, story-driven, etc). :)
    Cheers,

Funny how this thread only enters a lull in activity when it's confirmed that it *will* come out.

I must admit I'm stunned there isn't a trailer when it's this late in development or previews with websites as that's the norm when a games nearly out

I'll be buying this 100% just surprised we haven't seen anything

After everything that's happened during development I can't take a few forum members saying "It's totally on my device guys, I've played it and it's awesome but I can't show you or tell you anything about it! ;^)" as confirmation. Just reminds me of that kid from school that would tell the most blatant lies - not calling anyone a liar, just the ridiculous restrictions imposed on them make it impossible to take comfort in anything they're saying. I've no doubt that the game exists and will come out eventually, but I don't think Tato's definition of soon matches what anyone here thinks it means. "You wont have to wait till the end of the year" probably means late Oct early Nov...
