My only concern is that they might take years to push out episodes on the platform,And the last I want is to wait 6-7 months for a new episode that is while I'm being reasonable. It kills the buzz of the game in my opinion. They could release 1 episode/demo for free and then allow people to buy the whole game if they like it,that would be a better thing imo.
To all of you who are complaining about FM's episodic nature - so, you want a great horror game on iOS that has beautiful graphics, terrific sound, takes you a lot of time to complete and overall is console quality... is that right? Ok, but how much space would such a game take up on your PC? Less than 2gb??? Just think about it... there are limitations...
Well it depends really,Dark souls only takes up 1.3gb space.on my pc whereas Skyrim is 5.5gb,Noway can it topple those games considering both are open world games. They can probably compress a linear game into around 2gb or even 2.5gb.
amen!! I think tato already mentioned here each episode's approxymate size. so yeah, not making it episodic isn't even an option anymore and that's just fine. i even prefer it this way cauz now i know i have this one release i'm waiting for every 3-4 months or so, that for sure will make my ios device shine again! and like said here before, the episodes are lengthy enough to be considered as full seperate games so thats a win!
this has everything to do with the developpement technologies and the engines. don't you see that if we go with that mathematical logic, the only fact that skyrim is 5.5 gb should bring heaviest ios games to 200 kbs?
So? I just gave you an example there,Of course the size wouldn't scale that much but it can no way be bigger than a full fledged pc game like dark souls.I think apart from GL most devs have smaller file sizes for their game Oceanhorn,Riptide gp 2 are under 200mb and are complete quality games but maybe I'm underestimating the complexity and size of FM,I'll have to play it to see for myself probabaly.
you remember apple has a 2gb appstore size restriction policy right? ok lets just say the whole FM game would exceed that by far....so as the episodic telltale games!
Maybe you're right I haven't played the game and I don't know how big or complex the whole thing is.I just hope it comes out this month though.
Oh really? I thought I remember Tato promising that the game will run fine on older devices, many years back. There was always the addendum that it would run better on higher-end devices, but I feel like that was one of those concrete promises Tato has made frequently. What changed?
Before iOS7 yes, after iOS7 no more support for 256MBs devices. It have been stated countless of times here. Little info, iOS7 not only uses a lot more memory but also kills applications earlier. As soon as there's a memory warning it will start closing process, the ones using more memory).
Ah, the anticipation is building again. It will be awesome once it's released, whenever it happens. Hey, thanks for supporting us by the way and keeping us up to date.
Hello guys, We've been quite busy the last weeks as you can notice, here are some images of the interactive water simulation you'll see in the episode: img1, img2, img3. Apple folks are already playtesting the episode but we don't know exactly when it'll be ready, hopefully soon. Warm regards from our team!
