But was small episode and then a full game(non episodic)? I prefer a full game instead of episodes game..
Wait then for all episodes to be finished and buy them all (it would be the equivalent of a full game). OK, joking aside. ^^ No, we cannot afford very long time periods of development without selling anything (or we'll starve to death literally). We decided to bring more frequent games (episodes) in short amount of times cause people can't wait years for a full game (we either). We spend almost two years finalizing our F.O.G engine and we can take advantage of it's modularity to bring more games faster. Also, it was highly requested by users and it really fit our workflow and budget. It's less risky mind you. Warm regards,
I know TATO that you have decide for episodes instead of full game cause the time, and this it's good for you(and you're company) and for us so we haven't to wait lot of time,I will buy every episodes when eventually they hit the App store,I've only two question: after the small episode hit the store the other episodes had to be downloaded from inside the app(small episode)like telltale TWD,or every episode are separate app? And please we have lot of episodic games came out,Walking Dead Series 1,2,REPUBLIQUE,but they don't use ICLOUD,that do it to the nature of such episodes they need ICLOUD savegame, did you support, use ICLOUD for FORGOTTEN MEMORIES?thanks! EDIT: REPUBLIQUE support ICLOUD(i've notice now in my ICLOUD acccount..
We currently don't support iCloud but if the request is very high, we'll do an update and move local save files over the user iCloud account. It's just that we didn't though about it as no one (except you right now) asked for such feature. ^^ But thanks for your input.
One doubt tatoforever, which ios devices will be defenitively compatible with the game? (I think that this question isn't in the thread, at least, not recently, otherwise, sorry for repeat question)
I thought you mentioned that the full game was pretty much complete and about 9 hours in game play. Where this free episode was supposed to be a taster so people would be interested afterwards in buying the full game? Now it's episodes?
I'm sure the free episode/taster was from the middle of the game. That's what was stated in previous posts
Wait so if you haven't even finished the first two episodes of the full game then how long will it take you to make them all? I had the idea that you had virtually completed the whole full game? Are there episodes that have not even been started yet?
It was mentioned in earlier posts that the full game could be more than 10 hours of gameplay. With a huge file size of 2.5 Gb. I'm just wondering if the game is being broken into episodes now instead of originally just putting out the free episode and then releasing the full version?
via: http://thevitalounge.net/forgotten-memories-could-be-a-summer-nightmare/ Pfff JUST CONFUSED ????!!!!! so VITA is sooner? and why is not full story?
All three episodes are more than 10 hours of gameplay. Episode 2 and 3 still worked (cinematics, polishing, features, bugs, visual tweaks, optimizations, etc takes a huge amount of time) on and we'll proceed to release them as soon as they are finished.
No, we'll release episodes first on iOS cause it's less complicated than anywhere else (and it takes almost no time to push updates). As soon as an episode is ready => iOS, Vita (and the rest of platforms) and based on their review/slot/etc process will determine the time it takes for a platform to have the episode. We won't do any simultaneous release everywhere, it'll be as soon as the platforms can publish the episode then it'll have it.
Anything that have more than 512MBs of ram is supported and the game will adapt to it. If you have a powerful device you can have all visual fidelity maxed out without any framerate drop. Still, all supported devices have a basic set of visual features, you are free to turn on advanced features (such as dynamic FOV, ambient occlusion, motion blur, etc and meltdown your device). ^^
That's correct, it was used with content from the middle of the game. The Pilot episode, it's the first episode we'll release but story-wise it's not the beginning of the game as it doesn't follow the game chronology. The upcoming 2nd and 3rd episodes however match chronologically and the 2nd one starts at the beginning of the game.
Seriously, wouldn't it make sense to delay it until you have the 2nd episode ready to use as the free starter? Taking it from the middle of the story made sense as a short demo, but releasing it episodic starting halfway through sounds very strange.
Is not exactly the middle (halfway) of the game, it was created using such content and yeah is not exactly the beginning of the game but it'll make sense when you play it.
I truly thought that this episode was the start of the game. I'm curious to see how this goes. It would be weird to play the game and not really know whats going on story wise because you missed almost half of the game. But I'm sure it'll be great regardless.
No, this episode it's a sort of Pilot episode. It's the first one we'll release but chronologically-wise is not the beginning of the game. And don't worry, you won't be lost (if you fully finish the episode). ^^
